Mine is "Rozenburg"

With applause for the builders, I could not have done this any better :2thumbs:

Albatross IV

white marlin, beutiful bridge :2thumbs:

Still getting used to most of the ships, but I like the Rozenburg.. :)
-
I have not received yet SSEFerry pack ::). But I think these are the best Albatross IV and Rozenburg :)
-
Hello,
I like the "Albatross" the most. Because she's a beauty in real life. Almost the colors of the MV Apollo from Woodward Group. Nice...
2nd I like the White Marlin, because she's very fast and the steering is very easy, my opinion.
But:
Why can't we close the ramp of White Marlin all the way. It looks as she is sailing with open doors. Not to forget the bulkdoor behind the ramp, which is closed all the time. And at last: It shouldn't be possible to open the front door of Albatross in open sea without sinking. Just a few thoughts...
But I like it very much :2thumbs:

Hi Stefan,
The watertight doors on "White Marlin" do open & close. See the picture below. I think also that the ramps, when lifted, are in the correct position to match reality.
Angus.

Thanks for that info, I didn't try the other buttons... 8)
-
I like the Coromuel.
-
Rozenburg ferry is my favourite, closely followed by Albatross IV.
Well done Vstep! :2thumbs:

Hi Stefan,
and Welcome on the forum :-)
In real life, the ramps of the Condor Express and Condor Vitesse (the real life ships on which the White Marlin is based) don't raise higher than on the White Marlin model.
You can check it on real life pics of the ship, like this one for example :
The ramps are only ramps, they're not watertight doors (that's why there are doors behind them).
-
Probably the White Marlin boy is she quick but also Albatross IV.
Out of interest which ship is the Albatross modelled on??
And has anyone else figured out what the open and close buttons operate on the Albatros??
(Not the stern ramp or bow controls but the little switch beneath them)
Fantastic fun all of them.

Hi Attree,
The Albatros IV is modelled from the M/S Coromuel ( http://www.faktaomfartyg.se/coromuel_1973.htm ), one of the well known "Papenburg Sisters" ( http://www.ferryfantastic.webs.com/papenburg.htm ).
The Open/Close button allows you to lower/raise the bow ramp (which is behind the bow visor).

I think the ramp is missing...
Maybe we could have another repainted Albatross IV, this one in Channel Ferries colours, with a speed of 19.5 knots (see Earl Granville (http://www.faktaomfartyg.se/viking_4_1973.htm) :) )

Or could repainted Albatross IV, Eckerö Linjen M/S ROSLAGEN , at least I like this :).
http://www.faktaomfartyg.se/roslagen_1972_b_15.htm (http://www.faktaomfartyg.se/roslagen_1972_b_15.htm)
I've been on this ship in 2006 :).
-
We just could have all of the Sisters! !:)
-
If could download the new colors shipsim.com, some Albatross IV sister ships :).
I like the most m/s Roslagen and m/s Alandia, but Albatross IV is also a fine ship :)
Eckerö Linjen ships all http://www.faktaomfartyg.se/eckero_linjen.htm (http://www.faktaomfartyg.se/eckero_linjen.htm), there are a few Papenburg sisters ships :).

Should do for you - I saw her in Harwich few years back (OK quite a few, like 10), as the Rosebay ;)

I think the ramp is missing...
I think one of the mods said it wasn't possible to have a working bow ramp.
I'm not too bothered, I'm just glad the bow visor works - it looks so cool. 8)

there is a button saying open close but the ramp isnt working
I mean There is No ramp behind the bow visor..
So its the Mods playing a advanced version of SSE when we just keep with a regular normal one :(

What we need is a channel ferries fleet. Operating from all 3 uk ports (not padstow even though it is beautiful and rick steins food is fantastic, but its way too small) in the game to Calais.
But what would be core is a modelled ferry that actually does the Dover to Calais route and fits in the berths etc... Something like TFM's Channel Queen perhaps could be the workhorse. Pride of Rotterdam repainted could be our flagship for her size, White Marlin providing the speed trips and hearty old Albatross doing the night runs.
Oh I can dream.
Or I could create some missions. ;)
Someone put me back in my place I'm being too ambitious here.
:)
-
And of course make the warships playable to "escort" this fleet.
-
I think its a good idea personally - we could make "Channel Ferries" the official ShipSim Ferry Company

I think the Rozenburg is perfectly fit for Padstowe... Getting there is another story. 8)

what does the Albatross IV and white marlin look like?

Indeed, the bow ramp is planned to be added, but it's not present yet !
-
That's good to hear. I kinda missed it aswell. Especially because on some pictures I saw it was included.

Will a patch for the Ferry Add-On pack be released soon?

is that a competiter to http://www.global-ferries.com/ (http://www.global-ferries.com/)
-
Sure is! I'd do the Dover - Boulogne route instead if I could :-\
Haven't bought a domain yet, as you can see. i might in the near future..
-
So theres a bit of competition in the market now then.
-
Haha. Who could ever guess that. A competition in SSE for virtual companies ;D.
How will that end?? :-\
-
Have you got a timetable for your company? :P
-
i like the Channel Ferries website allot!
I really hope i could get a job there.. I am on SSE everday from 3 to 7
And i would love to do some services from dover to calais (or Calais to dover)
My recent crossings took about 55mins

Lol - nice one!
I wonder when you'll get angry emails from travellers asking where's the ferry and why is it not running as per timetable  (trust me, there are some stupid people out there....)

Not me!
If i sometimes have no time to go on SSE and do a ferry from DOver to calais (or calais to dover)
I will just send Tractorman an Email explaining tha i wont do a Fery on that day so he could cancel the ferries for that day"!
Really not everyone is stupid

lol, I meant real-life travellers who just happened to stumble across your website and thought it was the real thing. Trust me, I have came across a few stupid people. One classic moment in my work years ago was when one of my colleagues was sitting at a computer desk and goes:
Friend: Why is my computer screen showing the wrong time? It's showing ten past two (14 10) on my screen but my watch is saying it's quarter to one.
Me: [quickly realised my friend's predicament] What is today's date?
Friend: 14th October.
Me: That's not the time on your screen, it's today's date.
Friend: Oooh.....uuumm
-
So I should have asked "what is your favourite Channel Ferries company"?
The topic however is what is your fav from the ferry pack, and not "what is the best morronic Channel Ferry Site, and don't you dare not like my/our site or we kill you".
So stick with the topic or start your own!
Channel Ferries® is a Vstep® TradeMark, and you are at this moment taking big legal financial risk.
There is also some doubt about people actually owning the Ferry Pack, this topic was meant for those who actually HAVE the Ferry Pack.

The Rozenburg ferry is in fact a landing craft which could fit inside the welldock of an LPD like the Hr.Ms. Rotterdam L800. You can creata an amphibious mission in which the Pride of Rotterdam is the Dutch LPD Hr.Ms. Rotterdam L800 and in which the Rozenburg is a landing craft.

That Cat is quite a nice little ship 8)

We should have Color Magic The worlds biggest ferry and its route from oslo-kiel
