Hmmm.... so i was thinking taking a different angle to this sketching business. I was thinking of makening 3D Objects such as Geometrical. But I need a hand making a round circle in 3D, any tips?
-
Do you mean a sphere?
-
draw 2 circles to do a sweep.
1 that represents the path for another circle to follow.
use the follow me tool to drag the sweep circle around the patch circle (see attachments)

Ah Brilliant! that was going to be my second question but yeah more like a sphere, like a ball
-
i think sketchup has those primitive objects somewhere in the components database.
-
Well you make two circles like so, at perpendicular angles:

You select one of the circle edges, and click the follow me tool, and you will get:

Then just delete the flat circle for a sphere

You mean by no longer cheating and not beeing disgutingly dishonest in claiming you've modeled something that was actually borrowed from other persons' work (twice) and thus learn the very basis of a 3D program now?
It's about time!
(And by the way, as far as the very basis of a 3D software are concerned like above, the best school for that is to make his own homework -search, trial, errors- instead of lazily relying on a forum that is not even a modeling curses one).
Yeah... as you can all see, I've zero tolerance for dishonesty and lazyness.
Let's hope this guy will change for good though... Better late than never but some public apologies to the rest of the members here would have been much appropriate...

Hi 3rd,
I trust you understand it would indeed not be appropriate for you to seek for a 3D tutorial here on the Forum.
Check this link for some video based tutorials for SketchUp

but what if you want to make a low poly shere with low edges
-
just reduce the edges before you make it into a sphere

Oh of course, I though If I master all geometric shapes I would get a better idea of how to make a nice complex model with less likelihood of me ending up in a Mental Institute

Glad to see you are happy now Dom, By examineing the current winner models and some research I found out that making a model comes from the hart with knowledge, otherwise It will be nothing but a cold and empty shape. If I do manage to get enough practice....who knows I might enter CCC next time.

Well I though of a proper project this time, it's like a bus on water type boat. It has like 1 head instead of two and in the middle is where the passagers sit. Will also research to see tonnage, speed, passager capacity later on
For the body I will follow this model
(http://www.freefoto.com/images/1550/18/1550_18_21---Water-Bus--Venice--Italy-Vaporetto--Venezia--Italia_web.jpg?&k=Water+Bus%2C+Venice%2C+Italy+-+Vaporetto%2C+Venezia%2C+Italia)
But I will give it a fictional name and paint. I will try to make the textures realistic if not hey everyone likes brand new looking things. So I will see how it goes.So this is what I have so far, I will just post major updates.

Im glad I didn't bother learning su, looks rather complicated..

It is very, Im just gonna see what I can create out of nothing here see if I'm getting the hang on it if not ill wait awhile or let the pro's do it. Im just soo keen on having a ship that I can say it suits me personally, It's taking for ever with VSTEP requests or other modelers, gonna try to push through maybe my brain will make something through some knowledge

Dam, I don't seem to have the patience to do what I wanted..... ah well time to pull a chair an relax and let the pro's do it for now, pushing it like this wont do any good

And I thought maya was complicated ::)
instead I love it. :)

Hehehehe, store up as much patience as you can you'll need it. I'll need to work on a few things, when I have the time

looks like a great start on your model!¬

Best bet is to make a arc and pull it down, then drag it back to make it at a angle
-
THANKS i will try tommorow ::)
-
No problem
Good luck
