My computer meets all of the requirements for SS extremes, but I want to get the Titanic, so could I run it on windows 7?

Hi Bob.
You can run SS 2008 on Win 7

This is an awkward question. Some people are lucky and play SS2008 without problems with Windows 7, others have some problems.
I can play many of the missions without any problems on my machine, but some missions fail to start and the message:-"Questviewer has stopped working" comes up and then it crashes.
See the following message from Mad Fred the Administrator:-

This makes it clear that "let the buyer beware", SS2008 was not made to be compatible with Windows 7 in other words.

Hi Angus,
I have been lucky so far. I wonder if I'll have to add an "amendment" post in this thread some day. ;D

Although SS08 should do well with Windows 7, just watch out for setbacks like some missions for instance. There are some missions you can play and some you can't play. Those (missions) that cannot play can be identified with the system saying "Questviewer exe. stop working". If that problem arises, you can open back SS08 but go to the next mission.

If you have SS Extremes it is possible to copy the file "Questviewer" from the root menu of SSE and then overwrite the "questviewer" file in SS 2008. This does away with the problem described by K Jack above. A word of warning though, first copy the SS 2008 file to a "new folder" before you overwrite. That way you can, if you want to, replace it. An easy way to identify the two files is that the SSE file has the symbol of a green triangle beside it and the SS2008 file has a symbol showing a mans head beside it. As Johan (JoMach) has also said this allows you to go onto "Mutiplayer" as well. The picture below shows the SS2008 file in the place I copied it before the overwrite. The file appears exactly the same in the root folder of SS2008.
