You must have a weird sense of humour if you like it when a ship sinks. If I were you I would stick with Silent Hunter. ::)

You can easily sink a ship by crashing, ramming(NOT IN MP), hitting land etc

Everything that makes a ship sink In Real Life(IRL) would cause a ship to sink here...

You can't find TNT and blow it up in SSR ofcourse :P  ;D

Capt. Best has put it well. If you cannot manage to sink any ships in SSE, then you are simply inept.

In earlier builds the ships seemed too easy to sink but in the latest version they are more resilient.
Hitting something solid at a reasonable speed will do the job. A menacing stare won't be enough though  ;).

After much experimentation, it seems to me that ships do not receive any damage or sink while in free roam. They do during the missions.  Can anyone else verify this?  I don't think that the "switch" to turn damage on is working properly.

If the Damage box is checked in Free Roam, you can sink most ships easily.

Is there sufficient water depth for your vessel to sink?

Strange hobby by the way..  ;)

True, but while he’s at it the neighborhood cats are probably safe.

:-\ How do I sink a ship in free roaming i regeisterd and if I hit a rock at 80 knots i sometime get full damage but the propellers stay full because if it will sink you can tell by the engine sound if you are sinking the engines go more deep sound and quiet but in free roaming if I get 0 health the engines stay fine.

I have noticed since the latest patch that I can ram anything in Free-Roaming whether it's a ship, land, ice... etc(with damage turned on) and nothing happens, no damage whatsoever... this is an issue, not that i like to sink ships but if you are trying to navigate and hit something there needs to be some sort of penalty i.e. engine damage, ship damage, something. I'ts as if the Program doesnt recognize that damage is turned on. I also think the Mission editor which was so good in 2008/new Horizons needs quite a bit of work as it is very unstable. I am a big fan of the series but it's almost as if the developers took a big step back with the game engine to make the graphics a little prettier.
