Hello fellow captains, :captain:
I have purchased ship sim extremes the previous month and have noticed that the game runs at low frame rate.
my system config is :
CPU AMD phenom II x4 955
GPU ATI RADEON 5770 HD
RAM 2 GB DDR2
HDD 1.5 TB
PSU 850 W (dunno if this is needed)

1. Which operating system do you have?
2. Have you installed the latest drivers?
-
Hi Kalasap .....
You have a suitable CPU and I assume the clock speed is very close or a little over 3.0 Ghz
The graphics card is good too. If required please download the latest drivers.
RAM - If you are using Windows XP, 2 GB is OK but if using Vista or Windows 7 you need 3 GB.
When you say low frame rate, what do you get? Even if you get around 20 FPS it should be OK.
Have you installed the latest Update 1.3 ? If so, there is a possibility that you may experience lowered frame rates.
Further, I would also encourage you to register the License Key of your copy of SSE in your Profile in the Forum. This will allow you to access all boards of the Forum including Tech Support.

1. my proccesor is at 3.4 GHs
2. Yes I have installed the latest driver updates
3. Yes I have installed patch 1.3
4. I will post my framerate
5 I forgot to register my key.

I get a 7 on new york with veermas

The problem is the RAM, it's to slow, buy a card of 2gb, and put it and you will be 4gb!
Your video card is great!, (I have the same and runs normally at high graphics)
The processor too, the HD too, your unique problem is the RAM
I have a HD5770 1GB
Core 2 Duo 3.0Ghz E8400
RAM 4GB
Windows Vista
and SSE works fine.
-
Even 'the powers that be' don't know what the problem is..
-
He's right - you shouldn't mess around with your computer too much - except buying more RAM if you are running Vista or 7. You'll find some voodoo hints in this forum, but they seldom help.
There is a problem with the game itself, which makes it run properly on some machines and slowly on others. The developers are aware of that (I hope - as I'm one of the 'others').
-
A lot has to do with programs you have on your start-up task bar that you don’t need. Temporally exit/close some of them. You’ll get more frame rates this way. Others are just because someone didn’t read the “Recommended Specs“ before purchasing the game.
My computer isn’t the greatest, but I have absolutely no problem running this game.:captain:
-
This may be true in some cases. In others the computers (as mine) easily meet the specs - and the game runs jerky, even when the unnecessary startup progs and processes are shut down/deactivated. Like many others I spent hours and hour trying to edit video settings, closing down processes, trying different settings inside SSE etc. There is no real difference if the framerate is 7 or 7.5.
If you read in this forum you will find out, that even some people with high end computers are having trouble running SSE fluently, while others keep trying to tell us that something is wrong with our computers, even if they are able to handle all other simulation software without any problems.
Most of us are able to read! Many of us even followed the "minimum specs" discussion before the game was released.
So, kalasap marine, if you're lucky, Bob360 is right - but probably he's not and you may waste a lot of time.
But, as I mentioned, VSTEP has stated, that they are aware of it and working on it. So there is hope.

Lets hope it's done quickly, I'd hate to end up buying a new video card and the next day they release a patch to double the framerate.
In my case the CPU is definitely not a cause for slow performance. I have the Core i7 2.66 mhz and I ran performace monitor while playing the game and the CPU stayed at 8% the entire time.
-
I would be happy if only I knew it's the video card. But in fact nobody seems to know ...

I did use to have an ATI RADEON HD 5770 car til I swapped with an HD 5970. Ship sim works well
-
Soon I am going to upgrade my motherboard as it is getting old. I will buy a motherboard that supports DDR3.
And I am going to buy some memory cards they are not so expensive at all.
-
I may get a new computer..
If I change the motherboard I will need a new processor, new power-supply, new graphics card, Windows 7, etc.. :)
