VSTEP, please retract the upgrade. Next to a decreased performance there is even a bigger problem (and not only with me). When you change from Orbit view to helmsman view the throttle and rudder are behaving quite odd, for instance when the throttle is on 0 rpm and I change view it can suddenly go to full ahead! With the rudder it is the same: you can even see it happen on the little red/green bars........
OK a view nice things were added like fi the new camera, but the game is unplayable now especialy when you like towing........
I am very, very very disappointed........    >:(

On my computer I don't seem to have this problem you describe with SSE. Is that throttle and rudder problem just with a particular ship you try or for all of the ships you try?
Overall, since the update, on my computer SSE looks, performance, gameplay, towing and various other features have mostly improved.
It's odd that some people seem to be having problems since the update, where others, like me and for my computer, the update has been working fairly well and has improved things.

I tried the Sherpa (my fnavourite) and the cutter, will try more.
I'll do the following to test: free roaming, dover, make sure I have plenty of space, full speed ahead, rudder full port or starboard, switch views, then you see half the time the rudder (or one of them) running to the other side.
This sometimes also happens with the throttle.
The controls stays the same by the way.....

another:
Cutter, orbit view, rudder full starboard, 0 rpm.
Switch to helmsman view, top rudder indicator runs to port, rpm to full ahead, controls stay full starboard, 0 rpm, vessel is gaining speed and slowly turning to port.

I have the same problems with nearly all ships since Patch 1.3. After changing view, mostly the throttle or stearing goes to "0". And sometimes its not possible to move the stearing elements. It is very bad to play.
Maybe you could install more ships in Hamburg. I run down the Elbe and only 4 ships cruising.
best regards
CK

Due to the poor performance, there are very few possibilities so far to increase the number of AI ships, unfortunately. :'(
-
Bottman,
are the view problems described above known?
-
Hi,
if you mean the changing of rudder and engines due to the changing of the camera position? Yes, they are. I'm sure, that the developers had solved this problem before the release of the patch, because I've seen that problem within some beta-patch versions, but not within the last one I've got for testing. I don't know, how this problem again takes part of the game.. ??? :-[

Hello,
The indications of the "on-screen" overlay controls represent the actual position of the rudders, throttle and thrusters, the Istwert.
The meters on the bridge or wing consoles represent the target value, the setpoint, Sollwert, not the actual value.
Switching to an inside view could/will miss the refreshing of the setpoints of the meters until they are activated by a click on a meter. As far as I know, from then on, the meters will follow the controls.
Anyway, the actual measured values (should) remain unchanged when the views are switched....
To recover eaasily the overlay controls, the default key is "C" - I changed it to Space.
Regards,
Luc

I've only really noticed this on the jumbo javelin, it appears that when in orbit view ship and controls appear to respond but change to helm view 1 and the steering doesn't work all other controls move but the ship doesn't react change to helm view 2 & 3 and all controls move but again the ship does not react, very strange.
-
Sorry Luc, that is NOT correct, the actual position of throttle or rudder changes not only the overlays.....
Come on guys, test it out and fix it....... :(
-
I am also getting this issue. The sounds of the engines on my vessel powering down combined with the ship's sudden lack of acceleration usually alert me first.

Hi Guys,
I'm also getting the same issue here after updating to the latest patch.
I get the ships controls/ movements not matching the overlay or bridge controls, also I have had the case where I move the control after switching views and nothing happens. The overlay or bridge displays show the control not reacting but the helm or throttle bow thruster control moves but the ship does not.
So far I have experienced this in the following vessels so far;
the RIBS, Cutter, small coast guard vessel (can't remember what its called), POR, Fairmount Sherpa
On the POR the controls also don't match when you switch views and in many cases return to 0 when switch bridge control views (from main to wings), this applies to the control view and the effect on the ship.
is there any chance someone at Vstep could look into this it ruining what I otherwise think is good game.
Cheers
