Title: My possible entry of the next CCC, Verdmount II.
Post by: nathan.rail on January 02, 2011, 00:53:56
you will chose what do you think that I can do? Which you think that is the better?                Both are ferries.
But I haven't got sure if I do that, if I have a better idea until the nest CCC don't come, I post in the pool, but now are that one:

Verdmount II :

Propulsion: 2 x 3000 HP Diesel Engines
Lenght: 50,8 m
Widht: 6,9 m
Capacity: 48 cars and 196 passengers
Fuel Capacity: 320,00 L
Speed: 28,00 KTS

To do the vessels, what program I can use?  For free of couse, I haven't got money for Cinema 4D or 3ds max.

happy new year ;D ;D

---------------------------------EDIT-------------------------------------------------------

I deleted the possiblility of the Spock Sheft, because, it was to similar to the red eagle, and, by myself, i prefer very much, do the verdmount II.

Tomorow I will post a draw of the verdmount II, but here is a first description: It have 3 floors, a passenger area in the bow, the passenger area have two floors, the largest is the first, with a door in the middle separating the lazer area to the seats area, and two toilets in the side of the door, in the second floor, it's only seats and two toilets, the third floor it's only a small bridge and two lifeboats (RHIBs) the cars area cover the bigger area of the ferry, from the stern to almoust the middle, (a little more to the middle) and cover two decks (the two decks behind the passenger area).

--------------------------EDIT----------------------------------------------------

she is in the attach:                                                  P.S. I don't know why my scanner made the paper pink.

the best Free 3D Modeling program is Google SketchUp.

the best Free 3D Modeling program is Google SketchUp.

"Best" is a subjective notion and I can understand some people think this or that program is "best" for them.
But regarding free 3D Modeling program, I'd say Blender or Gmax are much much more complete than Sketchup ad their possibilities are more numerous. That doesn't necessarily make them "best" or "better" and that doesn't mean SketchUp is "bad", but for me who is a Gmax user (besides Rhinoceros 3D that I use for the shapes modeling itself), SketchUp is simply not in the same league at all, and by far.

I disagree slightly here - I am sure there are "better" software out there...

But Mad_Fred has proven with his Proteus, that if you are dedicated, and spend the time and practice, you CAN make really good models in SU:

I've never said the contrary! I've seen some extraordinary good models made with SketchUp (mainly with the paying Pro version in fact), but that doesn't deny the fact that Gmax and Blender are more complete and offer more possibilities, more tools, more modeling power and flexibility for more complexe shapes and mapping/texturing.
