Title: How do you get DLC Content packs if you have Steam?
Post by: The Ferry Man on November 24, 2010, 15:04:07
Hi

Seeing Franks Post about the Sigita DLC, how do the people who have Steam get these packs?

As a Steam copy owner... I miss the old days of The Shipyard  :'(

The DLC pack will become available through STEAM as well...only we cannot tell you when as STEAM has got their own agenda and release schedule unfortunately...but it should not be too long hopefully!

OK, thanks Frank

Still wish I had the non-Steam version... I liked the Shipyard

STEAM coming out of my ears. Had I known the game I was purchasing was not an original VSTep product I would have downloaded the proper version.

Now I'm stuck with this Extremely disappointing version and I can't even get the latest missions.

Does owning a Steam version mean I can't freely try new missions.

Hi Glenn,

Once the Mission Editor is out, you can download new missions directly in-game without the interference of STEAM. For now you'll just have to wait untill STEAM makes the DLC available   :(

Hi Glenn,

It must be quite frustrating for you not to obtain the "Sigita" through Steam.

Pardon my ignorance about Steam and this is no way to offend you ...... I am rather curious to know why you (and many others) have to wait for your downloads from Steam rather than downloading directly from the shipsim.com website. I mean, what stops you from downloading the "Sigita" from ShipSim ?

I am sure there may be some advantages about downloading from Steam but does it prevent you from using ShipSim.com ??

Please don't view this query as any kind of mockery ..... it's just my curiosity that made me post this.

Unfortunately it's not possible to add the Sigita DLC or any other update manually to a STEAM version.

I never liked steam.. i prefer gasoil or heavy fuel oil ;)  ;D

....or ballast ????? ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Ballast..... I now understand the disadvantage of having downloaded SSE from Steam.

A wee bit of research revealed that SSE costs $40 through Steam and $52 through ShipSim.com  ...... so that's self explanatory !!! My boxed version cost me $65 ($52 + $13 for shipping)

Being a steam user myself, I must say I have never seen any other steam game that didn't satisfy the customers as well as the non-steam version.. :-\

I have the boxed version from steam and i ordered it from amazon.com. I live in The U.S. so did not want to order something from overseas. I was not aware that the amazon one was steam.

Well I think I have found where it will be - in the Steam box under SSE, there is a section called DLC - DownLoadable Content

But...

Still no sign of it, nearly a week later...  :-\
