Title: Cutter smoke bug
Post by: VirtualSkipper on November 17, 2010, 15:00:59
Hi all,

I don't know if anyone has written about this before but has anyone noticed the smoke bug on the Cutter?

It goes like; you start up the engines to full forward and than an explosion of smoke comes out of the funnels of the Cutter. Than after a sec or 7 it's normal again. Pretty weird bug  ???

I hope this will get fixed in the next update.

it happens to me too
my comp starts crashing because of the aount of particles blowing at the same time gives rush on comps, what i always do is go on captain mode or walkthourgh without looking into the smoke. or i put the cutter camera position in an angle to avoid all the smoke going to your screen

but i do hope the dev's will do something about it soon

These posts on heavy smoke from the stacks being a bug are pretty fun. As a U.S. Coast Guard Officer with 8 years of sea time, I can tell you that you would get a lot of smoke from the stacks any time you went ahead full with both MDEs. In fact a cutter I served on was reported as "on fire" while we were leaving our home port. Sorry that this "bug" is causing problems, but it is pretty realistic.

I don't even think that it is a bug.

I'm not sure what Port State would think of that... perhaps a MARPOL Annex 6 'Air Pollution' violation...  ;D

Ofcourse it happens in real life too due to an incomplete combustion but this one is a bit overdone..  ;)
