I can't resist but to add my two cents worth after reading and reading all the complaints about Ship Sim Extremes. I agree with all of it and the game at it's present state is just unplayable. I also believe that I bought the game too early but I knew about all the bugs, I just had a good deal on the purchase of the downloaded version, so, I will put it on the shelf and see what develops in the near future. I will go back and play SS2008. It is hard for me to believe that so many players abandoned SS2008, it is still the best Ship Sim there is and why VSTEP didn't pursue in making it even better, is beyond my comprehension. Even the Editor edition of SS2008 with it's many bugs, is workable.
I just hope that the bad publicity and the present 1.5 star rating of Ship Sim Extremes doesn't put the game and the developers under.

Well nice to know you're doing your bit to not bring them down mate :2thumbs:.

I doubt that SS 2008 has been abandoned by many users. SSE is, understandably, getting the most attention on the forum.
The reason that VSTEP did not continue to develop ’08 instead of going to Extremes is simply that the architecture of SS 2008 would not support the additional features requested. (That is why we have Windows instead of DOS.)
Unfortunately—in my opinion—not enough attention was paid to improving the infrastructure to support the enhancements. In that sense, Extremes is “a bridge too farâ€.
