Hey,
A few days ago, I launched my SS08 demo.
When it finished starting up, I got a blue screen, not "THE" blue screen, but, just the color of the window.
When I tried some things, re-installing etc., it isn't even starting up anymore.
I get stuck at the screen: VStep, which says: 100%
Then it freezes, and in my taskmanager it says: QuestViewer.exe
I have AMD Athlon II X4 2.2Ghz 600e
ATI Radeon HD 5750 1GB
and 4 GB of RAM.
Nothing is pushed to their limits, so I don't know what the problem is.
I can run each game I want on full graphics, but this one doesn't seem to work.

Hi Ruben,
Welcome to the SS forums :)
Have you tried making sure you have al the latest drivers for your system? Your card should certainly be able to play the game so I would make sure first.
Could you post your DXDIAG report please? This will help us determine what might be causing the problem, if it might be hardware related anyway.
If you're not sure how to do this then please let me know, but you sound like you know a little bit about computers anyway :)
Regards,
Adam

Yes, haha, I know how to do it.
Here it is.

By the way, is it possible to use a joystick + steeringwheel for my game?
I want to use the steering wheel + pedals for the normal control, and my joystick for the bow thrusters etc.
-
Yes it's possible to use a joystick. But I'm not sure about the steering wheel, I don't have one.
-
It should be possible, since it uses different axis'.
I've tried it on SSE, and it said: Joy1 X Neg, Joy1 X Pos, Joy1 Y Neg, Joy1 Y Pos, Joy2 X Neg, Joy2 X Pos, Joy2Y Neg, Joy2 Y Pos,

Hi there,
The latest driver you have is from 7th July. I would strongly suggest you update your drivers, as most of them come out once a month.
Try that, and let us know how you get on.

Adam

I'm currently downloading my Catalyst drivers, I'll post the result soon.

Nope, it's still stuck at
VSTEP >
100%
I don't think that my PC is the problem at all.
I think it's the game, not my PC.
Because, my drivers, outdated or not, should be able to run this game, since it's a pretty old game.

No one who has the answer?

Cyberuben,
Sometimes it takes a little time and patience to get a game working properly. I'm not sure why the game could be having problems on your system but making sure you have the latest drivers and updates is very important.
Have you updated the codecs on your machine? All the latest .net packs ect?

I have anything the problem needs.
When I launch the program, it's still in the menu screen after 30 minutes.
It's just NOT starting up.
