A retired sea captain of trade who I know says that the amount of passengers it can carry, makes it the biggest.
But I said it's all about the tonnage.
Who is right about this?
-
depends what type of biggest is being referred to, I think...
Tonnage, Pax capacity, length, etc, all could be a form of "biggest"
-
Another criteria for passenger ships is the number of lower beds!
-
I ment in size
-
Sure, but than you will even have the conflict between length and gross tonnage. Those are the two points of interest for the masters of "Oasis..." and "Allure of the Seas", who have a dispute about it. ;)
-
Yes, but lenght and so are just ways to calculate the ships' size. But to me the biggest (cruise)ship in the world is the one with the most space in them.
-
That will make it even harder do decide! Which space you mean? The total amount of the inner space (GT), or the space per passenger...

Yes, that's what I meant! !:) the gross tonnage!
That is what makes a (cruise)ship the biggest in size, right?
-
yes it does
