Would youm like to see Titanic in the Shipyard for download, would you download it? Do you think It would great?

The Titanic is a wonderful ship, and will be in SSE in a future update. The date is not yet told, I believe :thumbs:

Speaking of steam.. will addon ships work on steam versions of ship sim?

Yes they will, steam is only a distribution method, the game is the same no matter where it's bought from and addons that might follow will work for everyone.

I love Titanic and I would like very much if it avaiable in the shipyard, don't interest me the price, if would be for buy.
But I think, like the first reply, the Titanic will be avaiable for download in a few months.
If the VSTEP is making a Titanic for SSE, why they don't advise us in the news?

You can find the Shipyard on the main www.shipsim.com website. Right now there is only Ship Sim 2008 addon ships. :thumbs:

Hopefully in early 2011 we will start seeing some new ships. (Titanic)

Cause it hit a virtual iceberg en route to the port of SSE...
looking on SS08 MP, I never saw anyone use her though...? I can't see why so many people are so annoyed...
It will come when it comes - surely there are enough vessels to keep you occupied until then?

For one thing, Jason wanted to make some improvements to his model. After he finishes it, VSTEP have a considerable amount of work to do getting it into the game, including the dynamics and the new controls.
Titanic is a very high poly ship, and caused many problems in SS08 during environment changes.
Given the present state of SSE with its already high memory and processing demands, introducing Titanic at this time would probably be a big headache for technical support.

I always thought that sailing Titanic to places that she never visited in her short life was very unrealistic - Marty Smith's introducing her as a replica was nearest to realism so if she does make an appearance in SSE I feel that Titanic 2 or naming after one of her sister ships would be more acceptable.
On the subject of departed ships, I would love to see some older and smaller cargos ships and tankers - the ones with bridges further forward. Not only were some of them very appealing to the eye but they could go into smaller/shallower docks.
For answer to the question "Why don't VSTEP tell us...." you only have to look at the uproar caused by dates not being met - we only have ourselves (well, our fellow players) to blame.

looking at the CCC rules (im not sure if this is used for the actual ships ingame but it seems logic)
a ship may not have more then 800 polygons each meter, if it would have more it would somehow crash the game, for titanic it means that the ship has 236800 polygons and not more, but for what i have read a few times is that titanic has more then 800000 polygons :o
so i think i know why the ship is not in the game yet ;)
