Hi there,
Have you tried clicking on the eye icon on the toolbar of the map?
Also, try pressing tab to see if it brings it back.
How much RAM do you have in your system? It might be that the map is not being put into the system memory perhaps.

What type of video card do you have?
-
Hi Shortbusss,
No need to get angry, I'm sure we can sort this issue out for you :)
Could you please post your DXDIAG report please?
Your dxdiag can be obtained by following these instructions:
Click Start > Run. type in dxdiag and press Enter. You may see a popup asking about WHQL drivers, click Yes/Ok to proceed.
In the window that appears, click the button that says Save All Information, when the Save Dialog box appears, save the file to your desktop. To upload the file here, click Additional Options underneath the reply area and choose Browse near Attach. Browse to your desktop, click the file and click Open.
* Windows Vista users need to press the Windows Key + R to access the Run prompt.
You can then post your reply with the file attached.

Hi Shortbusss,
You're display driver is quite old. Can you check to see if you have a new driver please? Just go to http://nvidia.co.uk/ and click on drivers.
...and no worries, I know it can be frustrating :)

And Windows 7 eats a lot of memory, so in this case 2GB is below the minimum requirements. This could very well be the cause of the problem.
-
His video card is below the minimum requirements, too. Technically it should still work (the 8600GT still supports SM3.0), but he is going to really have to cut back on resolution/detail.

Update graphics driver and is dont work still :(
I have no problems with other games!
Something else I can try?
-
You could try reinstalling the game with Administrator rights, and by disabling any antivirus software whilst installing.
Perhaps that might work :)

Hi, Ever tried "Defragging" the Ship simulator games, Now I dont have got SSE steam version. But I'm very expirenced with Steam, Click on "Library", Locate Ship Simulator Extremes Right Click "Properties" and find the Defragg button, This help against some lag and errors

Hi shortbusss,
If you mean the flat screen on the bridge with the map then I don't think this works as it does in SS08.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong :)
-
yes i have se youtube movie game play and is work

When your game seems to be running, but parts of it not running correctly like the map in this case, it's a typical symptom of ram starvation.
Your system is really not that bad, but it needs more ram. I'd try installing more, and make it ddr3 sdram, before buying a new pc ;)
-
Id had the same problem with ss2006, because i had to less memory,
Id put some extra ram in it and it works for me, so try to ad some ram.
-
Hi Shortbusss,
You could always try increasing your paging file and see if that helps. You'll find it in the systems settings menu locating in the control panel.
If you're not sure how to do this let me know :)
-
I have another question about this map.
In SS 2006, the map almost looks like the 'paper-map' used on real ships.
In SS 2008, the map alomst looks like the first 'GPS-maps'.
In SSE, the map almost looks like the betaversion of the first 'GPS-maps'.
I wonder why the developement of the map in the three different games have moved in this direction?
In my simple opinion so should the development been the opposite, that would been more natural. But I suppose that there is a reason for this, and I realy hope that it is not about that the game should run smoothly.
-
In SSE2010 the maps should be the maps of SS06, which look like the real maps on board!
