Title: Ferry Design in Sketchup? - I didn't do it...
Post by: The Ferry Man on September 21, 2010, 23:53:28
Hey Guys

Want your opinion, after reading some news reports, came across the link below, to this image, of a ciomputer rendition of a newbuild to be built for Denmark:

http://www.hundested-roervig.dk/nybyg_billeder/faergen.jpg

Now it looks to me like its done in... Sketchup  :doh:

What do you think?

Hundested Rørvig Færgefart A/S is a very small ferry company. So why should they - or the shipyard in Bangladesh, that probably builds she ship very cheap - spend money (which at last the customer has to pay) in high end software or expensive drawings? There is no reason to do that.

But I'm not shure if it is a good idea to let the ferry build in Bangladesh - after the ferry company SamsøTraffikken had to learn that even ferries built in Greece do not match the Danish quality standards.

accutally, it doesn't look that bad,
but still, blenders free and an awful lot better

Well, it looks a bit like a manually drawn drawing. Maybe it's the purpose ...

Does look a lot like sketchup indeed, and yet, not 100% either, in some places.

Then again, there's sketchup stuff around that you would not think was made with it, aswell.  :)

And stuff that isn't, but looks like it.   :P

I wouldn't be 100% sure myself...   ::)
