Well, one day there was this really BIG iceberg in the development office, you see.....
;D

I think that, as things are right now, "Titanic" steals too much memory from the game as the model is very detailed. This caused some serious problems with things like Frames per second which is already, without her, causing a great amount of distress amongst members. As to the future, who knows what might happen.

It's okay, don't worry!
Yes, if nothing catastrophic goes wrong, it will follow!

RMS Gigantic, you tend to ignore the word 'if' a lot.

So you believe something catostrophic happened at VSTEP?

Nevermind.. you're not going to get the point no matter how obviously anyone puts it. :sleepy:

Mistake, all pictures on homepage are false.

No they are not actually, they are actual ingame shots, just at different stages of development sometimes.
And not everything stayed the same.
Fred.

Just wondering, if we got the Titanic in the game would we be able to "drive" some of
her few lifeboats?
-
I bet even the people at VStep don't know the answer to that one, so how would anyone at the forums know? ;)
-
Why would they not know it... they are developing it, and deciding wether or not these things happen... ;)
;D

That's a little difficult without an engine, unless you want to start rowing.

Thats why I'm asking. ;)

If sailing ships were to become possible, there would be a possibility....
At least some of the boats also had the equipment to rig sails:

The one on the left is taking its sail(s) down as it approaches the Carpathia.

I think you mean right ;D
I never knew they had sails.

what is the phrase you kids use nowadays? Epic fail?! ::)

I never knew they had sails.
All lifeboats on British ships used to have sails. The rig was a standing lug loose footed mainsail and a jib. Both made of heavy duty red canvas. When I qualified for my lifeboat ticket in 1953, we had to demonstrate that we could give orders to the crew of oarsmen and to rig and sail the boat too. Most of the ships I sailed on had 4 boats, only one of which had an engine. I still have the document concerned.

Ha! I don't say that but...

Impressive, Angus ;D
So yeah, I could imagine deployable Titanic lifeboats, but I couldn't imagine them any time soon. The models of Titanic and the lifeboat would need to be properly modified, the lifeboat would need to be able to switch between a storage and sailing "mode," and sailing would need to become possible in Ship Simulator Extremes.
I think that if Titanic were to have deployable lifeboats, the best candidates would be lifeboats 1 and 2, that is, the ones that hang over the sides as the ship is at sea. They are already in deployable position, and they are the only boats of their kind on the ship! Furthermore, they were meant as man overboard boats.
