Title: The Capsizetanic

i ocasionaly use the anchors to stop the ship more quickly

how is using anchors to top the ship quicker a sinking experiment. (though i admit titanic nearly did sink once when i acidently droped the anchors a little sooner than i should have)

i only do it as an emergency break. like in that photo or avetar call it what you want a cargo ship had passed in front of me, couldnt turn in time so i droped the anchors to help stop te ship. i dont do it on a regular basis

In real life, if you drop the anchor while your boat is moving faster than 5knts you could rip a hole in the bow, loose your anchor and if the hole is big enough might sink the ship, if you started doing this in SS I won't be on your boat in a hurry :-X

Post by: barrown1990 on February 09, 2011, 13:01:59: its a matter of damage limitation my friend. cargoships always give me 100% damage which will sink the ship anyway. its more better to have a hole that just risks sinking the ship than to have 100% damage and sink anyway
