Hi all!
So as we prepare for our release of the epic and eagerly awaited Extremes. However it will be such a shame to see the "Ship Simulator 2008" Forum slowly sink to its inactivity which in all honesty, I doubt it will.
So as we dock and moore the legendary SS08 and open the port gates for the new addition to the SS series, all I can say is a fond farewell to what has made most of our ambitions and likes related to ships or sailing become a virtual reality. This game made me meet tonnes of new people off al which are great. & we are never afraid of a bit of competition here and there.
I'm sure SS08's community will never die but let's remember what got us the new extremes. The passion of us all. So. In short.
Word, Peace out and Mega love :)) Lol.
Yea that was my speech, hehe.
Kind Regards

/me opens a bottle of champagne and celebrates
, What would we have done without SS08.. Sorry, Your getting old.. 2-3 Years old and its been a pleasure sailing with you.. But I didnt like your friend SS08, Questviewer.. He is very annoying
-
Questviewer himself is very dissapointed that most people still don't understand that he himself was not the cause of the actual crashes people experienced, but only the messenger that brought people the news of a conflict with the game.
His buddy Newton was to blame more often actually. Or just the pc's that people use, and how they are configured, and what people are doing with them whilst also playing shipsim. ;)

Yes Ship Simulator 2008 has been a fantastic game, and I will be sad to see it go. Thank you for providing me with countless hours of fun and challenges and hope that people will still play the game after Ship Simulator Extremes is released.
Bon voyage!! :)
-
This is just Too EXTREME for me :/ Hehe
-
I can see absolutely no reason why SS2008 should die. The game would only die if players lose interest and if they do then they will be the ones who lose out. I see no chance of the game disappearing it is too good to lose. What if, by any wild chance, players are disappointed with SSE? Then what. ??? I know that I will continue with SS2008 as long as it is installed on my computer. SS2006 is still there and still can be played too.
-
I’m sure that after the release of SSE we will look back with fondness to SS08.
-
Absolutely.. SS08 is the best game I've ever had, and will remain on my computer.. :)
-
Long may SS2008 reign on my PC,and SSE stand proudly alongside. :2thumbs:

Likewise!
Although i'm getting a new computer this week i'm still going to install both SS08/NH/Elbe/Furie and SS06 :)
There have been a couple of people who have asked me if there will still be an IJTS Server running for SS08...if I can host with the new computer I will. So i'll probably be playing both games still :)

SS08 Will deserve a place in my heart and the pc ... :2thumbs:
but now im looking forword at a better sea and wakes
-
True but I will still play SS2008 regularly.
-
I asked Shipsim about how long the SS 08 Multiplayer servers would be online. I got the following reply:
"Our MP servers for Ship Simulator 2008 will remain available until the end
of this year.
After that we will have to see if they are still used."
-
Yes because I suppose some people still will buy ss2008
So they need to.
-
I think peopel will continue playing it to.
-
uhh yea im gnna stick with ss08 for awhile even though SSE is installed. im just not liking the heaviness of SSE and i just cant get used to it cause its to diffrent...it just feels rather weird and choppy. so i guess il be playing ss08 until a few new patches come out.
-
yeah i know how you feel im getting my Pc upgraded or buying a proceser and graphics card idk yet but i cant have the game untill then :-\ soo yeah your not the only one
-
As long as there is no Titanic in SSE, ship sim 08 it is :2thumbs: lol I know corny, but hey its my favorite ship. I agree, the controls in SSE are rather odd
-
Titanic WILL BE in SSE. She is planned to be included later.

I am aware of the intended later release, hence why I said as long, and when she is I'll be using SSE alot more.
-
Hoy,
Yep, for the moment my 2008 version stays on my computer to.This is more for the missing ships(Elbe,Furie and Titanic). Also for the the missing parts(Bouys&Beacons e.s.o..........).
I will delete the 2008 version, when the extreme version is more complete, but i will play the extreme version every day to.
The game is very good, its only to be more improved.

Well it's an end to one adventure and the beginning of a new one. But i'm still enjoying SS08. :)
-
I think a lot of us are going to be playing SS2008 for longer than we expected now that we know what SSE is like :-\
-
I have no choice! My Multiplayer doesn't work! :-\

The Multiplayer servers of SS2008 must still be online for the next years, if people still like playing with SS2008!
-
Yep,if thats possible,or create a server(s) for yourself.
I'm sure Vstep will update us by patches to delete all the bugs.Maybe in a year from now,we talk very different.
