Great pics - I have wanted to go over on the Saints for some time, but with no cat, makes it difficult.
What time did you get in and leave Portsmouth?
-
arrived about 10:30am on st faith and left on st cecilia at about 8pm
TFM you might know, why did they build the saint class ferries with the bridge on the front why not in the middle like st clare. because of this they have to turn when they get to portsmouth and when they leave fishbourne
-
OK, I didn't turn up til about 1:00pm...
No, I never understood the Way they went from the C-Class double ended to the Saints one way...
I will see what I can find out...
Edit:
OK the naval architect who designed her felt that the speed required for the route meant that the vessels should be one-way, so they have two Voiths stern and one forward
-
i thought she only had 2 voiths, i just found a design for a idea to increase st cecilias size
(http://www.wightlink.co.uk/media/37769/newcarferry-450.jpg)
i think it's a bit ugly, they are also planning the same to st faith
but it is needed, they are often full up. when they extend them i will get a pic of them
-
Nope three.
I have seen that design... very... ugly.. :-\

and even more. thats all of them that are'nt dupes
