Title: OOW Ticket
Post by: toni81 on May 24, 2010, 03:12:40
Hello Everyone. I know this has nothing to do with the game but I just want to share with you my success on Friday 21st May. I just obtained my OOW ticket through the MCA in the UK. I have been a cadet at Warsash for the last four years. I am so excited about this and proud to be a 3rd Officer.

Thanks,
Toni

The Nautical/Technical department ratio is now like 5:1 or so?  ;D

Congratulation Toni81, well done! Just out of curiosity - Do you already know at which company you are going to work?

Happy sailing

Well done.

I've sailed with a few Warsash cadets and mates and the standard of training there is excellent.

I guess your 3rd mates ticket will get you the bridge to yourself for 4 hours !!!

Maybe because of this  ;D

In number 1 of the Swedish magazine “Utkiken” the following, written by a 10-year old British schoolboy.

“I want to be a captain when I grown up, because it’s a cool job that’s easy to do.
Captains don’t have to go to school such a long time. They only need tolearn figures, so they can read instruments. I think they also have tobe able to read maps, so they don’t get lost when they sail.

Captains have to brave, so they don’t get scared when it’s so foggythat they can’t see and when the propeller falls off they have to knowwhat to do about it. Captains have to have eyes that can see throughthe clouds and they mustn’t be afraid of thunder and lightning whichthey have closer tot hem than what we have.

The captain’s car is another thing I like. They earn more than theycan spend. That’s because most people think it’s dangerous to drive aboat, except captains, because they know how easy it is. There’s notmuch I don’t like, except that Spambot like captains. All the Spambot wantto marry a captain, so captains are always having to chase them away toget some peace…

I hope I don’t get seasick, because if I get seasick I can’t be a captain and I’ll have to start working”

Hey guys. Thanks for all of the kind comments.

I landed a Pilot Trainee job here in Bermuda. I will be working toward my pilot license and then go off to sea later in the year. I am so happy right now. Still on cloud nine. LOL

Take Care,
Toni81

Ballast, you have just made my day!  Now where's Traddles? :P

Just spotted this one. ::)  Funny that no Spambot ever chased after me. I suppose the wedding ring put them off a bit. :'(  Mind you my ticket is now not worth the very nice paper it is written on as I am what might well be described as "past it" in more ways than one. :(
