I tried it again and again :sleepy: :captain:

We don’t offer Technical support for deliberately sinking ships. That is not the purpose of the simulator.
If you search the forum, you will find many posts on that subject.
-
Shut up

Shut up

Shut up
Haha, don't think you understand what things can happen
-
what was that for Administraters only try to help and whats the point of ship simulator if your just going to sink ships ??? ??? and mvsmith you could of replyed : oh thanks , ok worth a try or ok thanks for you time
NOT SHUTUP respecy the adminstrters
-
I don't think Mr. Coke really cares now.
-
I think it would be more helpful to say that damage must be equal to or greater than 70% in order for a vessel to sink.
However, this subject is frowned upon by the majority of forum members for one good reason.
Sinking vessels are in no way fun.
The closest I have been to being on board a sinking ship was in a naval simulator, and that scared the living bejesus out of me.
EDIT: Telling a moderator to shut up will get you banned. Actually, telling anyone to shut up will get you banned.
-
Uhoh, it says he's making a poll!
-
CAN SOMEONE JUST ANSWER ???

Read my answer.

How old are you?
-
23

23
Seriously? Grow up.
-
Well you should know better then.
I think the record for the fastest forum ban is about to be broken.
-
i got banned inabout 2hrs of being on the fourm but i lernet my lesson
-
Well he's on half an hour now.
-
moejoe if you really want to sink something why don't you go on an another game, if you have it Just Cause 2. The boats on that will sink in a matter of secends, im sure that will fill u with satifaction
-

I've had missions failed because of 10% and less.
-
Ok everyone I play ship sim properly but sometimes I like to have fun
-
...at which point you turn it off and go out and play
-
That is better.
I would like to repeat that sinking in real life is not fun. This is why the forum members have reacted in the negative. Also, your behavior was considered innapropriate. The excessive use of Caps Lock is deemed as shouting, abd not tolerated. You are also asked to behave courteously towards all people.
I would also advise that everybody else does not support the behaviour towards a moderator. I manage, so I ask you all to do the same.

Actually McG, that is incorrect. It takes damage below the waterline to cause sinking.
You are right about being banned; 30 days, with encouragement from his friends.
-
I was about to write that. But I think 70 above the waterline.
Certainly in my experience that is what I find.
EDIT: I think at the end of MoJo CokeCan's ban we won't hear too much from him.
-
You are right about being banned; 30 days, with encouragement from his friends.
What does that mean?
-
I think that means:
Made my evening #2
nice work
Both quoting the insult aimed at Marty.
-
...with encouragement from his friends.
I aint his friends ;)
-
Oh, and Freedom 90 does not sink. It's invincible, 'coz it's a hovercraft.
-
so does that mean the wmbot and mc are banned to?
-
Oh, and Freedom 90 does not sink. It's invincible, 'coz it's a hovercraft.
do hovercrafts float in real life when the skirt is not inflated?
-
Yes, they do, actually. Strictly speaking, a hovercraft does not need a skirt. The first one didn't anyway.
And no I am not banned, because I did not encourage the behaviour of the banned.
-
no im talking about master captain, your McG
-
Oh, they're not banned. Yet.
-
so does that mean the wmbot and mc are banned to?
No, WM just likes to encourage others to get banned.
-
No matter. He has crashed anyway.
Look what just popped up on my computer.

I told moejoe that he could find information on sinking if he looked. There was no reason to repeat it just for his benefit.
When I thought he was a kid, I was inclined not to ban him, but at 23 his behavior was inexcusable.
-
But since you are taking the trouble of posting, why not just answer?
He may not know how to search?
-

Do you honestly believe he is 23? :-\
-
Do you honestly believe he is 23? :-\
His position requires him to believe him. Unless there is concrete evidence stating otherwise.
-
Ah, i see.
-
perhaps MoJo meant 2-3 instead of 23?
-
Thats the only logical explaination  :P
-
But since you are taking the trouble of posting, why not just answer?
He may not know how to search?
Because, to give a full and correct answer, as opposed to your quick and erroneous answers, is not something that can be accomplished in a few sentences. The subject has been further complicated by the diddling of the dynamics in the SuperPacks, which has broken some missions involving sinking.
I think it far more productive to encourage him to use the resources on the forum to gain a fuller understanding of the simulator.
If he is going to be an active member of this forum (something that is in doubt at the moment), he should learn to use the Search function. There is no excuse not to. There is help available on using Search. There is even help on finding the help on Search.
We realize how desperately you are trying to become a moderator. You are not going about it in an intelligent manner by sniping from the sidelines.
-

That was not called for. I have no intention of becoming a moderator. Nor am I sniping from the sidelines, I am merely trying to help. Isn't that what the forum is for? If you have an issue with that, I would prefer you kept your 'remarks' to PMs, or not at all.
I think a simplified answer would have diffused the situation much better than just telling him to search the forum. Sure, suggest that he searches the forum to widen his knowledge, but at least answer his question briefly first.
-
If you just want to help, then try giving complete and correct help, rather than criticizing those who have spent a lot more time and effort giving effective help than you have.
How many manuals or tutorials have you bothered to write?
-
Just because I am incorrect once in a while, does not mean that you have to bawl me out. Where possible I give the best help I can. I do not criticise the people distrubuting the help, but here I take issue with the manner in which the help is dealt out. People criticise you for your abrupt manner and I try to ignore this because you are generally correct. But actually insulting a forum member? That I do not agree with at all.
I don't write manuals and tutorials because I do not consider myself to be an expert in the game. But I still offer advice here and there and for the most part, it is correct. But then nobody is perfect. It is a shame that people are remembered for the negative aspects.
However, I have no wish to continue this juvenile argument about who is more right than someone else. I will not be posting more on this topic, and I will make it a point to always stay censored on your support topics.
-
If you have an issue with that, I would prefer you kept your 'remarks' to PMs, or not at all.
That coward’s dodge will not work. You have no compunction about attacking me publicly over the way I do my job. You cannot expect a courtesy that you don’t extend to others.
-
I retracted my courtesy when you insulted me.
-
I must agree with you Shane...its kind of inappropriate of you Marty. You can't act like that just because your a moderator...he's trying to help and you should be thankful...and i cannot disagree with McG...
-
Lets all jump on the band wagon!

Lets all jump on the band wagon!
WOO YEAH!

Might have known you'd not be too far behind me

Like i said this is not the time or place for a joke to unfold...

Marty, I can't say I disagree with him. You could have told him to search as well as offered the answer. I've seen certain bots on this forum chewed out for doing exactly what was done earlier, and I've also seen members driven away by that sort of behavior. This isn't the way a forum should be ran. I'm not happy.
Shane, I don’t see that you have a dog in this fight. By encouraging McG you may not be doing him a favor.
He has been sniping at me for a long time. I have tried to be patient, even agreeing with or praising him on many occasions. However, this episode has been enough. He had been warned before.
If the only way to convince him to stop is to rip him a new one in public, I am prepared to go as far as necessary.
-
Marty can i offer up my opinion? Actually im going to anyway ::)
No body as far as im aware is doubting or challenging your moderating skills and or anything else that moderating entails.
What is being doubted is the tone and language being tossed freely around an open forum. What sort of vibe is that giving off to new members or the 11 or so guests about now?
If it was me in your shoes and no dis-respect but i would continue this topic via PMs.
-
On the contrary you seem to have outraged quite a few forum members.
I hardly think that 'ripping me a new one' will do you any favours either. All I did is venture help on this topic. Help which you did not give in the first place. I think that in short, most vessels would sink when damaged to 70% above the waterline. I have run SS to confirm this. And found it to be quite correct. So much for;
your quick and erroneous answers
It certainly gives you no basis to make unfounded claims on the open forum about me wanting to be a moderator. Just because I use correct english does not make me a mod-hopeful. In fact, if you troubled to use the search function, you would be able to see that I have stated before very clearly that I do not want to be a moderator.
I have followed all the guidance required for people with grievances with moderators and await a response through that channel.
-
From pages 1 and 2, it looks like this topic should have a different name
And the Freedom 90 Does not sink at all, nor Pioneer, nor Arie Visser, unless you use the sink cheat :P
-
I have followed all the guidance required for people with grievances with moderators and await a response through that channel.
Right, McG, You and Shane have reported my posts to me. I’m sure you don’t want my response, so you will have to wait awhile.
I suppose that none of you have noticed that moejoe still has not registered his key. At this point, we don’t even know if he has a legal SS.
We do not usually give support beyond certain necessities to people who are not known to be legal users.
I pointed moejoe to the forum in order to convince him to register his key.
There is a reason for doing things a certain way, but some thoughtless people don’t care about disrupting the operation of the support function, as evident in their penchant for posting unhelpful, off-topic, and inane comments in support topics, incuding this one.
-
We are not complaining about the level of help, but more the fact of the insult.
-
You should read the topic again from the top.
You started the rhubarb by complaining about the level of help.
-
So I did. But that gives you no reason to act like you did.
-
She probably doesn't sink because of not having a registered copy :police:
-
So I did. But that gives you no reason to act like you did.
Only after you persisted in your criticism, which was gratuitous and entirely out of line considering moejoe’s status, did I feel it necessary to admonish you.
Your interference with a moderator performing his job is something that cannot be tolerated.
If you were insulted by my suggestion that you wanted to be a moderator, perhaps it indicates the contempt you have for that office.
-
You could have explained the situation rather than blaspheming about a forum member. Your behaviour is often questionable but this is too far. Earlier in this topic I supported you, but you just went too far.
It could be all resolved if you just apologised for insulting me.

I suggest that a number of members who do not like the comments of moderators should read this topic with care. Not only read it, but inwardly digest it, particularly the parts about what moderators are and how to behave on the foum. I am a normally very tolerant person but the behaviour exhibited here by some of the forum members is going far beyond that which is acceptable. I post this as a fair warning, please take heed. It appears to me that many members have never read this topic, or if they have, that they seem to think it does not apply to them.
Traddles.
