ok, so i just registered a couple of minutes ago.
when i go to the webpage that says what site for which patch, i click on one for 1.00 to 1.42.
i have tried each one, and the gamershell patch will show up in my folder.
i go to click it. i wait a couple of minutes, not doing anything, nothing.
on each of the other websites, i go to open the downloaded patch.
it says that i cannot open the file because it was corrupted.
i am not sure if you need this but: i have a 2007 Windows Vista Professional, 32 Bit, 500 MB RAM, Dual Gamers Custom Memory.

Hi.
With Vista, you need to have at least 1GB of RAM to run Ship Simulator 2008. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
I doubt this is causing your problem with updating, but I think you should know.

Actually McG, he needs 2GB for Vista. He should post his DxDiag on the Technical support board if he wants any help.
He is still not registered. His reference to use of Picktorrent in another topic makes me suspicious.
Regards,
Marty

Perhaps he just doesn't know how to register? I agree the Picktorrent thing is suspicious...

no, i bought ship simulator 2008 off ebay. it is only some other games that i get from torrents. acctually, i typed it wrong. my computer has 500 GB of RAM
-
sorry for the double post but i dont think it would be ship simulator in general that makes that problem. i think that it is a corrupted file or something else. not ship simulator.
-
If you get 500GB RAM, I want your computer!
-
Yes, McG, with only the 32-bit version of W7, his claim is even more ridiculous.
His continued failure to register his license key is an indication that he does not have a legal copy.
Even if he got it from e-bay, it probably was a used copy without a useable serial key.

Not impressed

You have 500GB of RAM ??? ??? ???
Alienware (can have) desktops have 12GB of RAM.
