Hoy, just give idea's and sugestions about this new vessel.
Marc
I love big ships, and the difficulty's for handling these vessels.
I wish it was more detailed.
-
I haven't had time to try it, but it looks fairly good. Just a shame we can't really do anything with it, hopefully in the future we can. And I agree, doesn't look too detailed, just looks a rather quick conversion from latitude...
-
Does the 'bulk' connection work?
-
I think it is great.
I like the dynamics, a object that moves and turns slow.(maybe even a bit to fast)
And if you look from the bridge it looks detailed enough for me.
I played the mission when you have to take her out of Hamburg and I had much more fun then with the much more detailed oceanstar. (biceaus that ship has horrible dynamics)
I mean, what more can you ask for, Vstep is busy with ship simulator extremes and professional so I am allready verry happy with this.
Much more happy then with some other updates (wich I removed immidiatly)
-
Well. does this ship have Wakes? (or whatever the name is ::))
-
No wakes, no smoke & no foremast unfortunately. But as Sam says she handles remarkable realistically. Sadly the 3 items mentioned could not be added to the model. This is all mentioned in the introduction when loading the pack.

So sad :'( No i won't add the ship in my new movie
-
I like Selsey III, even her magnificent horn hum. If they can edit the Latitude, there is no wander what ship they will edit next.
-

So what ship they'll edit next, Matt? Could you tell me that, please?
-
Personal I say the Selsey III look like the Latitude, it was better when they had chosen for a new kind of bulk carrier and ship we have not jet in shipship 2008

Jack

I'm not sure what ship the Creators of the Super Packs will edit next but I think it will be Pride of Rotterdam to be Pride of Hull, Titanic as either Olympic or Britannic, or Fairmount Sherpa as Fairmount Glacier so there is no telling what ship they will edit.

It's all Ok & maybe possible but is there any point in having another almost the same floating white box, or another 4-funneled floating pice of disaster, or even the 2nd 1:1 acid tug? ???
The previous ones were new ships in SS as player objects.
-
Thank you for the "New" vessel. This type of ship has been "begging" to be added..especially for the ports of Rotterdam, and Hamburg. I wish she did have a foremast though, the light floating out forward in the dark is odd... But hey..free is great...and my wife's favorite price for my toys! ;D The Horn is nothing less than..OUTSTANDING!! I did notice one thing though..and I am curious if others have had this. I NEVER get bad frame rates or "studdering" with this game, but if I play the Marseille departure with the tugs..it really hesitates. I notice in this mission the the bulkcarrier has gray hatches, instead of red, like in all the others, and am curious if this vessel might be a high "poly" model ? Hey guys..THANK AGAIN! Looking forward to the next edition in June..I am there!
Best Regards,
Galen

Hoy,
Yes, the formast is needed when you sail at night.
The light in the front is always lower than the light above the bridge.
This way you can see if he's coming head-on.Which i dont realy like in real life. :D

Hmmmm...I guess no one with the "company" is going to acknowledge...? ;D

I do not know who you are, or who you think you might be, however, I was asking a question of the company...not of what you think. This is a very civilized forum, and I do not need "directing thoughts", from the cheap seats. Please watch your tone, and your replies here.
Thank you

Is something supposed to appear at the bulk connections?
-
To darkcapilla,
Yes,I hope that your previous reply is just because your english is not that good. The reply is not realy polite, infact its some kind of rude.
I hope when you write something the next time, you think it twice over.

Hi McG,
That ship is adapted from a special program VSTEP made, which also included a bulk loader (grain, etc.) that probably explains the attachment and the appearance in the ME of references to “bulkâ€.

Marty
-
Ok, thanks Marty, I just wasn't sure if it just didn't show them
-
Here are a few shots of this new "Bulker", departing Marsielle, and entering Hamburg, with the assistance of the Bugiser 2. I really think that this ship is a winner, even with it's "flaws". Thanks for filling a "needed" vessel, with in Ship Simulator.

Galen

I regret not speak English well. work for you, but not others.
I just said does not work and have everything properly configured for patch v1.4.2
something you have to do what is beautiful is not standing still while others enjoy it.
see that happen at the end.
I only say that they do something I feel sorry for the bad words they can understand.
some are happy. others are sad. :(
bulkcarrier. I said nothing to you. " I put this here for them to see.
Att: Jose Mª Capilla.

Chaps, please be gentle with darkapilla. I assume that he is using one of those terrible translation-programms. Those programms maybe work fine for simple sentences when there are no words with more than one meaning, but most of the time they make a mess out of it. He better write in spanish and let someone with a knowledge of that language translate it for him.

I agree

You make a very valid point there Aad. Those of us who are English speakers should always be aware of this problem. For an example, I sadly have no other languages, having spent many years at sea where English is the Lingua Franca. (I'm not even certain that is the correct expression. :-\ :-[

Hi Galen,
I played the mission on a laptop, not the swiftest system, and got red hatches and a playable frame rate. (no stuttering, but the true ship speed was much less than indicated)
Perhaps you were low on available memory after playing SS for some time without restarting the computer.
Similar symptoms can occur when running under Win7, which is not really supported for SS 2008.

Marty

Hey Marty..
I went to the Mission editor, and "Killed" some of the static, and AI traffic..this helped. However, in free roam, if I start, right after a mission, the vessel will not show up... I must close out, and restart the Sim for it to work, and the program to work properly. I must say..I will do anything to get this ship to run, I have been waiting for a long time for a "Bulker". Any Ideas would be great. Everything else works great, and I am up to date, on XP with a DELL XPS 600, 4 GB, an an Ividia 9400 graphics card. 61 percent free on memory...

I went back to reinstall ship simulator 2008 and works well.
but when you install new horizons stopped working may be a useful aid. :-\
already installed the patch ShipSim2008.Update.v13-v142
and fix everything :2thumbs:
It works well 8)
-
Hoy Aad,
Yes, that would be a very better idea.
Its what i said in my first reply.
Marc
-
now that they've made a bulkship make a bulk crane. model it from the container crane !:) :2thumbs:
-
There already exists a bulk “craneâ€. It is in another VSTEP product. It is very different from the container crane.
-
Does it seem that VSTEP would include it in the next version of SS?

sse, yes possibly true

I agree so much with this, that I feel it justifiable to just quote it rather than write something new.
-
Perhaps you dozed off, Stu, but the current object of discussion is not a ship.
-
Oh I am sorry, Marty. I saw the topic title and just assumed it was about "Re: New vessel "Selsey III"bulkcarrier, what do you think about it"
Clearly I am mistaken then... I wonder why no mention has been made by a Moderator that it is off-topic... ::)

Perhaps the moderators assumed that one would be intelligent enough to actually read the posts before replying to them.

I think the correct expression is that Polish is now the Lingua Franca

How FAR OFF TOPIC can you go!?

Hoy,
Yes, Stuart is right guy's,please stay on topic.

i meant to say maybe ;)
-
Hi Marc,
The posts about the bulk crane that Stu objected to are really on topic because the Bulk Crane or bulk loader is a companion to the bulk ship in the same way that the pontoon and vacuumtower are part of Jumbo Javelin.

Marty

Yes,but the polish writing was not realy on topic,i think.

Hi Marc,
I agree. Unfortunately it seems that many topics are seen as places to post irrelevant chat. I’ve come to expect that on this board.
When that irresponsible behavior takes place on support boards where people are looking for real help, I find it execrable and inexcusable.
Fortunately there are only a small number of thoughtless people who engage in that rude and silly behavior.

Marty

Hoy,
Sometimes it goes off topic very easely, and without direct knowing it happens.Even i had it a couple of times in the very beginning of the old forum.
Thats why,i look first if it goes ontrack again by itself, that happens to.Now this time one of our fellow members pointed it to me.And i think he was right to.
Thanks for the reply.
I hope that this topic stays ontrack now,we shall see.
