Hoy everyone,
We have a new vessel, what do you think of it?
Would you play it more than other vessels.
Marc
-
Old new vessel... :D
I liked it then and in Voortberand Besparen so I'm looking forward to downloading it for SS08
-
very well but you can not play with him in high waves.
and leaves no trail of foam. :-\
-
The Good Ole Inland Container Ship. Thank yoou so much Terry & the Creator Forum members.
-
Its an very nice ship i like sailing with her.
its also nice that you can put containers on her :2thumbs:
Thom

Inland vessels are not intended to work on the sea in open water, doing that is like commiting suicide. :o
P.S. I just corrected her name in the topic title.
-
I can't belive they remade by favourite o6 ship for 08, I am happy. When I read the installer I was shocked to realise they actually added a walkthrough mode, I'm even happier. Maybe they read my suggestion
-
Thanks Gents. :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

SS06's Inland Container is back as the Wachthaven III. Excellent job Creator's Forum :2thumbs:

COMEMNTS REMOVED BY AUTHOR.

Yayy for the SS06 Inland cargo ship, thank you! ;D :2thumbs:
-
Well done, thank´s to the creators :2thumbs:
Great job you've done ;)
Greets, Vossi
-
Its nice though. but it hasnt got any wakes. so im not interested to make movie of it
-
Good to see she finally arrived in SS08!
A Big Thanks to all who involved in creating these add-ons! :2thumbs:
-
I really like the Wachaven, i've only had it for a few hours though. Can you load containers on the Wachaven in free roaming moad? ;
-
Every new vessel is an very good thing for all players i think!!!
So it's for me too! Nice job! Very good player objects!
But there are a lot of cargo ships in the game, so it's not some big chnage...
But it's an great ship, and ncie job for the creators.
The Sea Cloud it would be good to see as an playable ship!!!
Good bye!
-
I like it a lot, good to see a inland ship again.
It only is strange that the ship is impossible to turn when you have the bow spring line to the dock. (same with the superpack containership)
-
Hi Sam,
Is this what you mean? If you wait for just about 50 seconds she does spring off OK. I attach a little test mission for you to try. It does nothing except let you try springing off the Quayside. ::) You can try it going ahead using the for'd spring or going astern using the after spring, it should work OK both ways. Always best to do it going ahead in reality though, then no danger of smashing the prop or rudder. Sorry  I must be getting too old ::) I should have said "Hard a'port"
-
I tried it just like that and it won't work :-\
-
Sorry you are not having any joy with this one Sam. I am sure it must be very annoying, but I understand other players also have the same problem and not only with this ship. Some time ago I seem to remember posting on how to get "North Star" off her berth and turned 180 degrees when her engine was stuck in ahead gear only. Players then reported it did not work for them. I honestly cannot give you an explanation why this happens.

Yea i used to have that problem too, having difficulties turning the North Star especially when docking her. The same thing is with the Elbe but thanks to some developer who recently added a virtual bow thruster from her super pack. :)
-
"Wachthaven III" not bad. Although i'll be more interested to see the sea foam left by the vessel.
-
Well, I think a tug as old as Elbe shouldn't have a bowthruster biceaus you can perfectly moore her with spring lines.
(If it works, that is ;D)
But with the pushboat I can perfectly do it (only for casting off with the spring line of the barge)
All people who are moaning about sea foam, does that affect the simulation THAT much?
I am sick of people to ask for all these stupid features when they even don't know how to manouver a ship.
I think the dynamics and manouvering characteristics need some more attention.
If you put a slow speed two stroke engine from full ahead to reverse to fast then you can have a black out.
If you use 100%mcr at 45° rudder then your engine overheats instantly.
A ship with controllable pitch propellors can go much faster from full ahead to astern.
And much more.
I think those features need some more attention in stead of adding more and more ships.
And maybe ARPA ;D
-
This is a €20 game, not a €4000 professional simulator
-
People are just curious, Sam bacause look at other forums based on new ships been added to SS08 and they always complain about the problem about it. And some if not all, are based on missing features of a ship and they thought that was affecting their simulation. And its not only based on maneuvering a ship but how they want to navigate it in the comfort of other ships passing by especially when they out there in the real world. You don't expect them to be that good in maneuvering a ship but by saying that we don't need these stupid features is discouraging. I like this game because i love ships no matter how big and small or how fast and slow they are, I could maneuver them to the best of my ability and experience that i have. 8)

Poor you.
So often I see in your posts you're saying that you're sick of one kind of people, tired of another, hate third, etc... Maybe visit a doctor? ;D
-
Well, all those people mostly are the same group.
I am just trying to prevent that everybody gets the vision that the dynamics are perfect and all they need is new horn sounds and some fancy lights. (+ every single ferry and cruiseship (real and non existing) that they like)
Shipsim Extremes will have some sort of storymode so I think it won't be bad to teach people how ships are manouvered.
@K Jack
Won't it be even more satisfying if you can manouver a ship wich handles correct? No matter how big or small.
I think that the engine features can be added by some simple algorithems.
I am verry happy with ships like fairmount sherpa, bugsier 2 and Jumbo Javelin biceaus they are real ships made out of the real specifications.
Vstep went a large step ahead by employing somebody who has a couple of years experience.
And things that probably everybody didn't notice changed.
Like correct navigational lights.
But I am getting a little off-topic now.
-
Hoi there, i am new on the board, having some problems with add-ons i installed. Is there somebody who could give me a hand please
-
Hoy,
Put this under technical support,please.
Than you will find help very soon.
Marc
-
:lol:Thanks, hope to get an anwer. See you
-
only 2 problems with it that I know off,
1) It has no wake whatsoever for some reason.
2) Ever tried putting it with 8kts wind and putting it in 4m high waves, reccomend you never do that as you will witness some very odd dynamics at work.
Other than those 2 points its the greatest free addon ship for SS08

Yes Sam i agreed, but its does not had to be as real as the real ship simulator in those maritime colleges or universities where they train you in a artificial bridge using plenty computers to control a ship. All I just asking is if they don't have a sea foam feature for Wachthaven III, i could wait and I won't complain, simple as that.

Well, I am not asking for that much.
On a Polaris bridge simulator it even is difficult to keep a ship on a straight line (without autopilot).
It would be unpossible to manouver a ship on your own biceaus there are just to many things to do, you need at least 3 people!
All I want, is the engines, rudder and bow thruster to be a little more realistic with some ships.
-
hey, creator's fourm! since you guy converted the inland containership, could you guys also convert the yacht from ss06
-
They converting only those static/AI ships which are from SS08. But who knows...
BTW, the first mention of Latitude as bulker were here - http://www.vstep.nl/projects/dry_bulk_crane_simulator/detail.php
It could be that they took & edited Latitude for that project-game & then put it to SS as a Selsey III.
-
Hi all people I like this Wachthaven III I think also all is good when you go off the berth with spring line but he has only one big problem it cant moor with spring the aft isnt going on spring best vessel who goes on spring is agile
