Hi all,
I think there may be a couple of topics about this, but, I downloaded a few of web browsers last night...Google Chrome, Opera, and Firefox.
I have to say, I really am enjoying Opera...It seems really easy to use, and quite fast, too. I found Google chrome was nice, but not quite my cup of tea, in the sense that there was no 'bar' at the top, ie, File, edit, and so on.
I also enjoyed Firefox, it almost feels like a more 'modern' version of IE, so to speak.
But overall, I feel I enjoyed Opera the best...Fast, modern, and just a tad different.
Does anyone else use Opera? - What are your opinions on the above web browsers? :)
Kind Regards,
Jack.

I have enjoyed using Firefox for several years..Never a problem..

-
Google Chrome...fast...simple...has great extensions. I've tried IE Firefox IE and Opera for 2 weeks each I stuck with chrome
-
I am with Internet Explorer for a little longer until I switch to Firefox. My dad had it on his XP Laptop. It looked awesome. Safari too.
I am switching to Mozilla Firefox on the day of February 13th, 2010, Valentines Day Eve. Firefox is a bit like Internet Explorer but with stuff IE doesn't have. After Firefox, I will add Safari to my 7 with Firefox on June 3rd, 2010, my Birthday, and 3 days before Ship Simulator Extremes.
EDIT: Switched very earlier.

Why all this waiting!? =S
-
I prefer Chrome, and when that's being dodgy I use Firefox for certain sites that don't yet work on Chrome.
Oh look! There's an advert for Chrome at the bottom of this topic. ;)
-
I'm not thinking on the Design and bla bla bla. but i'm thinking of the speed, and the security the different web browsers has ;)
-
I currently switched to Firefox, and have seen no problems so far. Firefox and Opera are more safe than Internet Explorer, in my opinion. The many additions on Firefox are nice, #

Don't forget Personas for Firefox.. ;)

Whoa! Cool! thanks for sharing that saltydog, i never knew about that :2thumbs:
-
Opera has some Add-ons too, but not as many as Firefox I don't think!
Jack.
-
Facebook doesn't really work on Opera :(
-
Some of it doesn't show up quite right, yeah. But, for me it doesn't matter so much as here and IJTS are my main sites, really... :)
-
Chrome   I think it has the best extensions, try them out :)

I have been using Lynx, the best CLI web browser there is...
;D
I've also been working on programming my own web browser, not done yet though, I would like to hear what people would like to see in it.
-
Is this it?:

Am I missing something here? or is it supposed to look like that?
-
That's it alright! It's fast as hell. BTW, don't complain that it's not pretty enough. It's made for CLI, and speed, not eyecandy. :P
-
Does it display any images?
-
I'm sure that Lynx would provide me with the same sort of fun that using Dreamweaver in code mode would give me, i.e. none at all...
-
Does it display any images?
I don't think so, MAYBE it might with plugins, but with the types of monitors that NEED to use those web browsers I doubt it would work very well. BTW that shot is being ran inside a terminal, so the actual lynx is LESS graphical than that.
But, like I said...FAST AS HELL...
(I made this post using Lynx believe it or not)

I agree SD, there's a nice addon I found it's called "Noscripts". It disables every Java and Javascript. It's really really nice. You can add exceptions to youtube and such. It disables almost every ad, it makes things WAY faster, I love it. I also use MyWOT, which I found out about from you.. :P
I don't like too many addons though because then they change everything around and make it frustrating. I also use "reminderfox". It gives you a reminder for things you want to remind yourself about.
-
I don't have many add-ons, just WOT and ABP, and the walnut theme is nice.. :)
-
Ah, I used the '2010' theme. Tell me more about ABP? How is it and what does it do?
-
It blocks ads.. Here you go.. ;)

-
Oh, that one, yeah, I love that one.
-
Yeah, I've used the bottom one. I didn't like it because I would always accidentally go into it. It looks nice though. I was considering checking out what it takes to make a theme, I might try it. :)
-
Can you get many Add-ons which change the theme, in Firefox? :)
-
Can you get many Add-ons which change the theme, in Fire fox? :)
Here you can find opera add ones
http://widgets.opera.com/
opera has even a build in torrent, no add ones needed and many thens to downloads for free

If you call 30,000 different themes to choose from, then yes (that's just themes, not addons). Also, as far as I know, all of Firefox's addons are free.
-
In the latest version of Firefox there are also things called Personas (a fancy word for themes).. ;)

That's what I have, 3.6. I love it, it's great..
Faster, more secure, and really nice looking.
