It's just like an ipod touch/iphone but bigger
-
And more fragile :-S
My iPod screen broke really easily, it's a known fault.
I dread to think how fragile the glass is on this is.
So it's supposed to be a laptop? there's a reason why they fold. It's to protect the screen.

Agreed, but its still pretty cool, not something you can fit in your pocket mind..

I've had mine since april or so last year, mine still works perfectly..

To me its just a notebook :-\ just highly priced and without as many features :P
-
Hey! Its like an ipod for adults ;D :D

Or to put it nicely, an iPod for the elderly. ;)
-
Because its bigger you dont need glasses to see it?
-
Would you really want to?
-
It looks like a Very thin book
-
huge piece of junk if you ask me, its an oversized ipod touch, its an absolute waist of money to buy.
-
I rather buy Microsoft Windows products than Apple products.
Microsoft Windows has lower prices.
While Apple has a Titanic size of a price.
Apple must learn they can't beat Mircosoft's prices. No offence to Mac users.
-
Apple products are very good...
I have the iPod Touch 2G with 3G software, I use it all day everyday. There's nothing I hate about it.

Agreed, I used to own a Mac computer (a Performa 630, which I got for free, and then a Performa 5400, which I paid for :D), it was 2-3 times expensive than a comparable IBM-compatiable PC and the choice of software (especially games) was very limited and I had to rely on AppleMac magazines CD's for some shareware/freebies.
Don't get me wrong, I loved my Apple Macs. They were really easy to use and looked a bit stylish. However the price tag was quite higher, it was very difficult to upgrade them and many shops (at the time) did not stock any Apple software and it was regarded as something of a Holy Grail if you do managed to came across one in a shop.
So in 2001 I finally had enough and bought my first ever PC which had XP Home installed. I've never looked back since
-
Ok this is my reply:
it is a much bigger than the Ipone and it is much to expensive for me, with no Microsoft Windows 7, and it said on GMTV it was with 7 I im never will buy it.
And 97% of the worlds computers use Microsoft Windows :2thumbs:

Agreed.
-
Here's my take on it Microsoft - Stick to making Windows Apple - stick to iPODS :P As Keane said its an oversized ipod...mac's are good for image and video editing other than that I think that your best with a PC just because of price.
-
and good luck finding a repair shop for anything apple, macs are over priced, i dont like the OS and programs are made for windows more often than mac as its more common, big companies run windows and so on
-
but fo real, its better than an Ipod, because now you can actually see 'something' ;D
-
At least you can fit the ipod in your pocket :P plus they have a builtin magnifying glass for you old folks on the ipod  No offence
-
yea and i can't imagine how delicate that dumb oversized ipod touch is
-
I wouldn't want to be the one that finds out especially for $500 :P

Your statistics are wayy off I'm afraid. A little over 2/3 computers use Windows..
2/3 = 66.66 Percent.
-
windows > mac linux any other OS
-
I've never had any of those Ipod things...A few of my friends have them, but I asked one of them, "Can you ring people on that thing?" And he said..."No".
I can't work out why you'd want to carry a thing around with you that you can't even ring or text on!!
-
listening to music, playing games...

The iPhone is a rip off, I think i worked it out as having cost £720 by the time the contract's finished...
Get an iTouch, and a £10 phone, and you've saved a lot of money...
-
But, I thought you could do that on an 'ordinary' phone, that costs half the price?

I got this info from The Gadget show
-
That's around the same as those who use Internet Explorer...in around 2003, onwards, IE started to decline in the amount of users it had, it would appear. (Looking at the graph on Wikipedia).
Jack.

-
What does 3G actually say?
-
It's high-speed mobile internet
-
It's high-speed mobile internet
Can't you have high speed (Portable) internet on a laptop? Where you actually have a keyboard, and so on?
-
Try putting a laptop in your pocket.
I suppose that's what the iPod Touch and iPhone is, a pocket computer...
-
*Squashes in pocket*
What about a lapbook? or whatever they call them...
-
Netbook? I have one at school, it still doesn't fit in my pocket...
Plus, before you say it, a Blackberry has nowhere near the computing power...
-
What about a banana?
-
Well, you've got me there. A banana is clearly superior to the iPod i'm writing this message on.
-

Jack ;D
-
Blackberry's are the best...better than any ipod could ever be, in my opinion being both a blackberry and ipod touch owner.

Ever heard about Jailbreaking a iphone?
-
Yes, but Jailbreakme.com has suspended all of its operations.

?? What are you talking about.
I use RedSn0w 0.9.2 and have just jailbreaked it to 3.1.3 :D
jailbreakme .com ? i've never heard about it
-
Jailbreakme is what all my
hacker computer literate friends used when they jailbroke their iTouches.
Having said that, I do run RockBox (http://www.rockbox.org) on my 1st gen Nano...
-
Cheers for that, been trying jailbreak mine for a while now
-
BlackRa1n is what I used..its the easiest and best in my opinion :)

That sounds gothic :-\
-
:P Nothing gothic about it.
-
I just used Blackra!n and its epic, so simple to use, now I can have all sorts of awesome themes!
and other stuff

Being a bit of a trekkie in the past, I must admit I liked the look of the iPad. But when it comes down to it, when would it ever have a place in my own life? My house has three desktops, two laptops, I have a Google G1 phone for on the move. We can even go online on the Wii or either of the two DSi's if we are desperate enough.
When at home, I sit in a nice comfy chair and browse the web on a 24" screen on a quad core PC connected by 20 meg fibre optic broadband, using any one of four different browsers that ALL support Flashplayer.
Will this new iPad use a scaled up version of the iPhones OS?.. if so, I doubt it'll have Flashplayer.
It's too big to fit in a pocket, it's too expensive to just get one for the sake of it. I reckon it'd just lay on the table getting used maybe once a day to check the news.
I watched a Youtube video about this thing and the general consensus is that it is a bit of a joke and that there there is no market for it.
Even playing Devil's advocate here, I wonder how many Apple fans who already own an iPhone and an Apple laptop would buy this? Especially if it has the same limited surfing functionality as all current smart phones.
I have no doubt they will shift a lot of units, but can't help wondering who would buy one and why.
???
-
Well Said^ I agree, it serves no purpose for everyday use especially being that it is not easy for travel, I'm traveling soon I'm taking my ipod but if I had an ipad I wouldnt take it...its not feasable to use while traveling, quite ridiculous in my opinion
-
its worthless ::) Just an oversized ipod touch :D overpriced too, and apple doesn't use flash because they say its under developed or some bullcrap like that ::) I'll stick with my ipod touch, does the same thing but in a much smaller and easily portable package ;D
-
And it allways is a grey haired/half bold man (probably in his midlife crisis) presenting a new product. ;D
If it is apple or microsoft, allways the same. :P
I have a Ipod touch, and I loved it in the beginning. But now I think it is worthless.
The time that I spent more then €150 to mp3's or GSM's is over.
I just bought a GSM for €15 and it does everything I need it for.
(for 1/10th of the price)
I just like it more to spend my money on party's and having fun in life ;D
And a tiny devise doesn't give you a lot of fun.
It only isolates you from the rest of the world with those earplugs. From wich you can mostly hear three different kinds of music on the bus trough eachother. (And then you wonder why a lot of people hear so bad)
-

BlackRa!n is Lame ;D
RedSn0w for the win. :D
-
I tried redsn0w, quite hard to actually do if you ask me, but hey ho, I'm happy with blackra1n
-
Blackra1n - 2
Redsn0w - 1

I'm just going to wait for Microsoft Surface to be released...
Pretty nifty for a computerised coffee table...
And the people who made Pocket God are looking at optimising the app for iPad...
It's bad enough not having a microphone...
