Excellent stuff, henry!  Very good work indeed!!

The guidelines are a tadge obsolete at the moment and it does not look like there will be any chance of introducing player made vessels into SS08. And since SSEx will be a new and different game, the specifications will chance too.

But, after SSEx is released, the development team are most likely going to evaluate the possibilities and come up with some new and updated guidelines. This will however take a while, as you can understand. In the mean time, it might still be possible to introduce models as static objects, as eyecandy, but even that takes time and effort on behalf of the development team that they simply haven't got. They're working double shifts already to get SSEx done in time.  ;D

If you want to press on anyway, you may also PM me with any specific question you may have about them. I'll do my best to answer them and make things clear if and when needed.

Again, very nice work!! I am keen to see more!

Regards,
Fred

Hi

Nice model. I have also seen this model Vs forum.
Are you making this model together with ariadne
This model seems as if made with sketch up  :) I use sometime Rhino. The ship's hull looks more smooth and realistic with rhino3d. Sorry if I'm wrong...

Here you can see how is going the progress of my model in the outside decks..

Henry, this is really good. The hull is fine- don't change it.

It is ALWAYS going to be possible to make a hull smoother, but this will increase the poly count and this could be an obstacle for future use. It looks really good as it is.

Yesterday i change the hull of the model and i designed again today, but saw me please in which part of the model do you think the hull could be smoother? and i see what i can do..

Henry, the hull is good. Very good.

Don't listen to anyone telling you it isn't. I can't see any problems at all. If you try and smooth anything else then you will increase the poly count...

Finish off the fine detailing, but leave the hull alone.

This is a REALLY good model!

How many polygons have you got in fact ? You can more increase polygons if the ship's hull minimum polygon. But she also looks beautiful like this.

But if you can avoid using lots of polys for the hull (mostly underwater!!!) then you have lots of polys for the important bit on top that people see! That's where the detail is useful

Unless you capsize a lot...

I really like this model, I think SA might feature it in the next magazine. Ask him...

Yes you are right but the are not many polygons in the model and specilay underwater so dont worry..At this time all my attention is for the interior bridge which is beatyfull as you can see in the photo..
