The radar is the most well-known navigation instrument beside the sea chart on a ship, from there it is probably important to get in Game version realistically illustrate of a modern radar to thereby it needs only to cover
the most important functions however the appearance is particularly important.
Therefore I hope we get in Ship simulator Extremes a better radar as in the VoortVarend Besparen there it is already nearly perfect for us normal players.
I need you and your vote to convince that the developers from VSTEP add a new, improved radar color in the Ship Simulator Extremes.
It is a modern blue / yellow color on the radar display and not that green on black that was 30 years ago modern. As a explanation land shall be yellow and water blue. Its offers a great daylight visibility.
We have when we look closely at the moment and so far we known it in the new version no ship (except for the Elbe and Furie)
that is so old that it still has a old tube radar screen so the old green is no longer necessary. Today the yellow/blue color is used on nearly all ships out there.
It would be also good if we could change the colors.
In the Pro (Now Nautis) version this color scheme has been already used.
It would be great if VSTEP could take at least these radar colors scheme from the SS Pro (Nautis) to the Game version.
This is an internationel Voting!
Please vote here if you want to have this modern radar color in SS10 Extremes:

Sorry for my English :-[
Here are some examples what i mean:

Its not nessecary to use the blue and yellow colour scheme, it's only used so you can see it during daylight. On the modern radars you can select any colour scheme you like.
Perhaps the radars can also be equiped with VRM, EBL, PIT and ARPA :)

PLEASE GENTLEMEN
It has been said before these campaign's serve no purpose V-Step make the game and try to
be as realistic as possible for you the player but you have to remember when asking /campaigning
if they put it in will my comp handle it ?
Yes SS.Pro has coloured radar it also is a frame rate grabber when running even on high end powerful
computer's .
If v-step gave in to all these campaign's then charge use for the enormouse amount of work by charging
twice the price is there going to be a campaign to bring it down.
My self I will wait and see what extremes brings before shouting I want this I want that they make a brill
sim at a reasonable price I can not ask for more.
MY 2 cents on the soapbox

Maybe you on the English forum know more about campaigns then i do, but it goes just about this day light radar color less about these specific functions. I think this color change would not raise the price so much.
It should be a try :-\

Regarding the DCITSE campaign: The official announcement from VSTEP, via Angus, was that there will be a “thingyâ€.
Do those late requesters not realize that the decision on what would be in Extremes was made many, many months ago? It is not likely that anything would be added to their to-do list since then.

My personal thoughts are...
Ship Simulator 08' was released in late 2007, wasn't it? -
We are now in 2010. That is 3 Years of development. So, in areas that V-STEP feel are most important, they will do the best that they can to try and upgrade it as best as they can, taking into account whether it will benefit the game any more than what we have currently. Or, whether it will balance out the excess pressure on the system by adding new features. But as time goes on, like cars do, I'm sure gameplay will become more "Economical", allowing V-STEP to improve, without loosing the Quality Gameplay. (FPS).
My own personal thoughts are that, be grateful of anything that is imroved in the next version. These "Campaigns" are all well and good, but, the word "Campaign" almost sounds like a protest, to get a feature that you want added...
V-STEP know what they need to improve on, or, what people would LIKE to be added. I'm sure they will do their best, and as Stuart said at one point, the interview with Frank looks extremely promising. I'm rather excited myself..!
That's my own opinion there.
Jack :)

VSTEP hasn't announced the PC requirements yet for SS Extremes. ;)
-
Don't expect them to be significantly higher than SS08

Read the poll. Offizier has written it in German AND English.
I can sort of understand German anyway...
-
McGherkin is right the poll is multilingual and the description text in the post is the same as here only Translated.
Please keep on voting because of the release date change there is still a chance.

Why is there only a Yes and a Don't Know? i suppose it should be
YES!!!!!
and
I don't want it myself, but i don't mind it being an option....
-
A drop-down box would suffice, giving the option of "Green on Black", "Red on Black (Night vision)" or "Gold on Blue"
I know when I operate the radar sets on my boat that I always use green on black or red on black. For whatever reason, gold on blue makes it more difficult for me to see every pip on screen.
-
With the modern radars, you can virtually choose any color set up, even purple! ;D
-
You are right the best for all would be if we can change the color manualy. I hope that this isn´t so difficult to realize.
Update: I don`t want that this Topic dies.
-
you might want one of these then;

I think it's been pretty much finalised as to what we all want.
