Cheats don't work
cheats dont work on my computer, I've tried everything I can but they don't work. I don't know whether it's because my computer is an apple-imac with boot camp installed or not.
Can someone please help me.

Oh dear... Not a happy chap. :(
Anyone for some search of "Cheats" topics as I'm fed up with searchings?
Besides, Hypersycos, please read this (http://80.95.161.114/shipsim/forum/index.php/topic,11578.0.html) before you post.
There must be something wrong with you WM :o
Hypersycos, as WM said, best bet is to search 'Cheats'
Although seeing as this is a simulation, nit quite sure what you are expecting...
Also this probably be somewhere else, not really a technical problem
-
Maybe the Cheats are turned of on the servers

well I have the same problems, with cheats like see and fly (the one that gives you a ME style camera and the one that makes you fly) and I can only occasionally get s.a.r.r to work (RJ4 Roof)
I've just learned to live with it... anyway, what is the tilde key? is it this?

Do we really want to know what you see all the time though McGherkin...?
I doubt looking through your eyes would help me berth...

I know
i was commenting on the 'See' cheat...

This isn't really a Technical Support Question. I'll move it to General Discussions, which is probably more relevant.
-
Well it's a part of the game, and it's not working. So surely that must be pretty technical?

How do you know they are not working? Most likely, folks have not learned how to use them. There have been other topics that explain how for anyone with the initiative to read them.
The method needed to invoke cheats is dependent upon the particular keyboard used and can be different for a Mac, which is not directly supported for running SS.
In any case, cheats are not a part of the game insofar as Technical Support is concerned.

Well I use a PC and I know that I'm entering them right. And i can guarantee that something is not right, because they only work sporadically. And the only cheat I can get working on a regular basis is flames.

I've tried everything from a PC keyboard to another computer, the only time it ever worked is when I used another computer... So I'm pretty certain that it's not me. Plus, when I'm on bootcamp the computer is every single inch like a PC.

Also, I have the Captains Journal.

Not necessarily. The computer is still a Mac, and it may handle certain keyboard keys in a special way.

And mine IS a PC..

"Cheats" are not really a supported function. They were developer codes for testing various functions and parameters.
If they work for you, then all well and good. If they don't, then oh well.
They can upset other players when used in a multiplayer environment, so please use them with care and consideration for others when in that situation.
