why dont the ships in the game have lights in their portholes? they only have starboard and port lights plus the odd mast one....the ships would look so much better if they did have lights and it would certainly add to the realism.

I remember this beibng discussed before. I think they have to retexture the ship with lights so it's something like two ships.
-
ahh ok but it sure would make it a bit more realistic with lights in the middle of the night! :)

Yeah, i totally agree but i'm sure we will see it in the future!

Not always true as many 'organised' ships (ie ferries, container vessels etc) have darken ship routines at night. This cuts down on light pollution, enables oncoming bridge watchkeepers to have nightvision before entering the bridge and minimises the ships own lightsources obscuring the all round view (in thick fog for example you wouldnt want the ships lights reflecting off the fog).

yeh but ships (especially passenger ships) most of the time have lights on inside because there are people inside :-\ its not dark in the ship at night.....(this goes for passenger vessels i dunno about others)
-
Yes thats true however lighting which would emit through portholes, windows etc is curtailed and quite often dimmed or even red lit.
