Title: Jumbo Programme Alert

For any fans of the Jumbo Javelin.. tonight on Quest television programme under the heading of Mighty Ships
is an hour long programme on the Jumbo ships. It is scheduled for 2200hrs. Well worth watching

It was well worth watching.900 ton lift each crane wow!!.When I worked on Crane Barge Tog Mor our one and only crane was 900 ton lift.

Hi Jim,  The size of the slings and shackles was quite awesome.  I was slightly disappointed there wasn,t a bit more on the manouvreing controls but otherwise very good. It has inspired me to build a radio controlled model next year. Modelling the cranes will be quite interesting.

No it was more concentrating on the workings of the one ship, The Fairplayer. That documentary had some very good shots in it , some better than the ones in the film on TV.

I saw on Mighty Ships on the Discovery Channel in the summer about the Jumbo Fareplayer.

For those who missed it (like me!) the whole series is being repeated tomorrow Sunday 3rd on Quest channel in the UK - I've set the recorder for all the ones I missed! :thumbs:
