A bad luck, wrong place-wrong time accident if you ask me, icebergs loose chunks or break apart, and mostly likely have done for centuries, every so often.
Yes global warming probably causes it happen more frequently but its generally a natural occurance.

Andy

To be quite honest, I'm very sceptical about global warming.  In my opinion, it's just another way for our governments to allow an increase in fuel charges etc. ;)

Although, I may be thinking that because my electricity bill has increased by 150% in 2 years >:(

I don't really think anyone can say if global warming is a real phenomena, or just some fantasy cooked-up by environmentalists....who knows eh ??? :-\

Regards.

Absolutely agree DJ, global warming is a conspiracy of sorts.
Look back through geological surveys and you can see how the planet natural heats up (or natural global warming to use such a vague term) until it reaches a 'breaking point' when we have superstorms and the planet falls into a ice age whereby the cycle starts again.
We are just speeding it up with the pollution we produce, and have produced in the past.
Well thats my opinion of it anyway if it matters  :P

Andy

Personally, I don't doubt global warming - but I DO doubt that it's man-made.

Global warming is perfectly natural. Once upon a time, the Romans grew grapes in England.

i think this was the captains mistake.
All he said to norwegian media was:"I suppose i came a little to close"
I think he should have known that it isn't safe to sail so near the ice.

Probably as drunk as his colleagues on the Russian mission to claim the North Pole... It turns out that the video they sent home was fake! It was actually a scene from the Titanic exploration!  ::) Seems like lies and deceptions still play a major part in Russian politics. The Cold War is not over yet...  :-\
