Title: patch. 1.4.2 doesnt work (0);

hi all iv just gotten a new gaming computer with vista and i install ship sim with out the 1.4.2 patch and with out new horizons and it works fine, but then when i install 1.4.2 or new horizons it says i have the incorrect or out of date engine. and wont run. :S which is sad as i like using the trawler. :(, any ideas as to how to fix this?

Go back to were you bay it and say you will have the ship simulator 2008 collector edition instead, then you got everything but not elbe, furie and jumbo javelin

Hi orkneylad,
I assume that you downloaded the updates and New Horizons from Shipsim.

If you go over to Technical support then I may be able to help you out. There are quite a few threads there, (about 11), that you will find if you use the search function, (using 'incorrect engine'), at the head of Technical Support.

If you still don't get an answer then post in Technical Support and I will see if we can come up with a solution.

Hi Dave,
That can happen if the wrong update path is followed. You might point him to Terry’s flow chart.
