Hi,
I am using Ship Sim 2008. I am tackling the mission where you have to hook up with a rubbish barge and go and collect rubbish in SF bay.
Whenever I link to the barge, and attach my towline (green circles), and pull away, all that happens is that my rope just gets stretched and appears that it gets longer, but the barge does not move.
Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong.
Mark - a frustrated rubbish collector in London.

Hi Mark,
Uhm try the anchor, otherwise I'd say a game glitch :-\
Best of Luck!

EDIT: AND Welcome to the forum  Enjoy your stay ;)

Hi there Mark,
Welcome to the forum.
As Matt says, That could be a "Bug", or a game "Glitch". (But, don't take my word for it - See below)
What is the name of the mission exactly? - A few of our mission head men might be able to help out, I'm not really the mission sort, but there are a few that are! ;D
I'll send a PM to one of them for you, hopefully they'll be on the topic soon :)
Jack.

Hi Mark
Sometimes when you get the problem of stretching tow rope if you also put the mooring ropes
on it will help and stop the tow rope stretch

Hi Mark,
Welcome to the forum.
Is this your first go at a pusher mission?
If it isn't then you will already know all that I'm about to say, and, sorry for stating the obvious.
Firstly, have a very good look around and make sure that you have not missed any mooring ropes between the barge and the dock.
Next, are you using the proper connections between the pusher and the barge?
In the attached picture, if you look at the fourth icon from the left at the bottom of the screen, you will see a stack, the icon you need is the bottom one.
Lastly, if you use the search function then you will find quite a lot of comments about rope stretch that might help you.
Regards, Dave
