Unfortunately I've found that Ship Sim 2008 won't allow me to load up a saved game in Free Roam, only for actually missions which is really disappointing. Strangely though the Simulator allowed me to save the free roam originally, but then won't let it load up (the word start is in grey rather than black when the cursor is moved over it). Has anyone else had this problem?

I have that.

Sorry if this is obvious, but when you save in free roam, you give it a different name..(for instance port and date)
Later, when you want to resume, you click "load save game"..
(welcome to the forum, by the way.. ;) )

It doesn't work with me

Hi All,
Like SD said, 8)
Sorry if this is obvious, but when you save in free roam,
It should have worked normal; after saving you must be able to continue with the "play / load savedgame" otions. ::)
Just tried them and all good. ;D
vr. gr. / kind regards, Erik

Yes have done all the obvious, but it bizarrely doesn't load even when I change the name from the default one they give you. Only the official game missions open which is really quite annoying.

Hi K2rockall,
Welcome to the forum.
As Erik said if you go to 'play' and then 'load saved games' you should not even see the inbuilt missions. Have a look around and see if you can see the 'Load Saved Games' after clicking 'Play', (it is at the bottom of the four items in the menu).
Regards, Dave

Nope it doesn't work.
Play -> Load saved game -> Overview screen but the Start option in the bottom left of the screen is grey. This is no option to go forward from here and load said save.
Rather dissapointing as it means no trips longer than about 30 minutes.

Thanks and those links might have something available to fix the problem but when clicking on them I get this "The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you. " - Obviously, I am logged in otherwise I wouldn't be able to post this reply.

You need to register your serial key for SS 2008 in your profile in order to access the technical support boards. Support for anything beyond the demo cannot be provided unless you are a registered user.

Hi K2rockall,
Do you have New Horizons? The ability to reload saved Free Roams was fixed in NH. Be sure that you have followed Terry’s flowchart in installing and updating.
