Title: License key problem.
Post by: Masamune on August 28, 2009, 20:34:30
Hi there!

I've just installed SS2008 on my brothers computer and when I went to put the lisence key in, it said 'Skip'. I've put it in loads of times and double, triple and even quadrouble checked it but this happens every time  :-\ But then I try to click the 'Skip' button and nothing happens because the button is greyed out.

Thanks in advance

No, the license say only on one PC, and you can't skip the key, enter the key in capital leathers and press OK or watt is say, don't remember

I believe this is the case.

Although when I first asked [RWP]DJM when I first arrived on the forum he said it was perfectly fine aslong as you only play on one at a time, not side by side.

But I would recommend uninstalling it on the first computer before re-installing it on another computer.

I hope that is clear.

You need to read the License, you have NOT aloud to have the shipsim on two computers ASK Mad_Fred or other admins or moderators

Just to confirm/clarify this.

You have the right to use the software on one computer only, for one user only.

There is one exception however. If you mean to run a dedicated Multiplayer server, you are allowed to install the game on a second machine, but only to host, no one else can use that installment to play along with you.

Regards,
Fred

But, the second computer I've installed it on has a better graphics carp and stuff, so is there a way to use it on the one instead of the other computer?

Could you please supply your system specifications or dxdiag, this may help us to determine the problem.

Your dxdiag can be obtained by following these instructions:

Click Start > Run. type in dxdiag and press Enter.  You may see a popup asking about WHQL drivers, click Yes/Ok to proceed.

In the window that appears, click the button that says Save All Information, when the Save Dialog box appears, save the file to your desktop.  To upload the file here, click Additional Options underneath the reply area and choose Browse near Attach.  Browse to your desktop, click the file and click Open.

*  Windows Vista users need to press the Windows Key + R to access the Run prompt.

You can then post your reply with the file attached.

This might help us to see what the problem is.

Hi Masamune,
It looks as though your computer is not able to handle the game as well as it should. You only have 1GB of memory which is right on the minimum and your processor is not up to the level required either. I Think also that your graphics card driver is very old too. There is a faint possibility that if you update the driver from the Nvidia website, you might, and  I stress "might", have better luck.

Angus.

These are the minimum requirements:-
 Windows 2000, XP or Vista
Pentium 4 2.4GHz or AMD equivalent
1GB (Windows 2000/XP) or 2GB (Vista)
GeForce 5900 or ATI 9600 Pro / X600 (128MB)
Sound card
Mouse with scroll wheel
Joystick, Joypad or Steering wheel
