On Thursday, my town of Gravenhurst was struck by severe thunderstorms that also was widespread across Southern Ontario. I have heard rumors that a tornado may have touched down on Bethune Drive, the main street of Gravenhurst, and took down trees and power lines. So far, the damage is something. I have been taking pictures of the damage and biking around town.
My house still doesn't have power and we've been without electricity for two nights. I am getting tired of having no power!! I can't go on my computer, play on the Wii, and my DS Lite is almost out of juice. To make matters worse, the fridge in our kitchen is warming up and we've had to transfer food to the freezer and fridge in the basement to keep cold.

Ouch. Nasty
Do you normally get tornadoes that far north?
-
Sounds bad :(
If you have lost power, which computer are you using now?

It's rare here. We never usually get any.

How could you not know if there was a tornado or not, lol.
-
That sucks! Hope you will have power soon again! Take care...

Hmm... A tornado touched down near hear around that same time as well!
Actually I'm not sure if it was exactly around that time, but it was close, at least.
It didn't touch down in my town, but one down the road , 4.5 miles east. It was an EF2 (On a scale3 of EF0 - EF5)
It knocked out power, threw branches and debris around, knocked down trees, broke windows, and tore the roofs off of the middle school gymnasium and an 8-unit apartment complex. Nobody was hurt, though.
It came with pretty much little, if not no warning at all. (Aside from the usual severe T-storm/Tornado watches, but no siren of immediate danger.)
Didn't affect my neighborhood. I didn't even know there was a tornado until it was on the news.
I should have rode my bike down there to take pictures of the damage, but I was too lazy.
I still wouldn't mind seeing a tornado, as long as my I and my house are not in its path, of course... Or loved ones and friends... Everybody else is on their own. All I want are awesome pictures to put on my deviantArt page.
Okay, so that last part was a bit of sadistic Carlinesque dark humor. :D

Years ago in Louisville, Kentucky (my hometown), a tornado landed in New Albany, Indiana, and was on a collision course for The 'Ville, but it changed course and headed east. September 2008, a week after patriots day, we got hit by a windstorm, possibly from a hurricane, it knocked a tree onto a powerline in my area, cutting off power for A WHOLE WEEK! January 2009, a icestorm hit Louisville knocking power out for another week, but my family used the icestorm as a fridge and freezer      this is some crazy weather we all have on this planet.

We had a Tornado land yesterday. It was at Brize Norton.
Joking aside, I'm glad you were not injured by it. They aren't nice when you get up close (Cyprus 2006- was great fun... for a while)

Hi everyone,
Our power got restored on Saturday at 5:00 pm Eastern, but the damage is so much, some parts of Gravenhurst will never look the same.
-
Good to hear that! Back to usual life then...
