There is a tutorial for red eagle. Try the search function. I will have a look and post back here when I find it.

A lot of people have similiar problem as they found Red Eagle difficult to control. That's because she is driven by Voith Schneider units (the only ship in SS2008 with this type of propulsion).
At first, I had a lot of trouble steering Red Eagle and actually thought it was a bug as well until someone pointed out that this was due to the way VS units work. Whoops! :-[
After a few hours of familiarization with Red Eagle in the 'free roaming' environment, I managed to get the hang of it and now she is actually my favourite ship in SS2008. If you do a search, you'll also find that I've posted a useful aide memoire on how to get Red Eagle move in any direction you want her to go.
Happy sailing! ;D

Wow! You don't go for half measures!
As said by Kevin, its propulsion system is perfect for the design and function of the ship.
I do have a solution for you though, Maximus...Don't play that ship if you don't like it. You might find it helps your blood pressure.

hey just curious but did you just happen to find the terminals in your video? and if so what place did you find them. thanks again

Just use the 2 dials with th white needles... Whichever way the needle points is the way that the front/back (not using bow/stern terminology on this ship).
Ie if the front needle points right, it swings the front right.
If the back needle points right, it swings the back right- therefore the front left.
I have noticed that the thing seems to be a little unstable- the pods 1 degree from straight and it starts spinning you in circles. Or maybe it is a little slow to register change and you over compensate???
I know I prefer the jet or the PoR
