Title: Am I a good image editor?
Post by: firestar12 on June 16, 2009, 16:36:27
Well, judging by this image, what would you guys say?
Before, and After. (I had to do that for my grandfather)

Very good! How did you accomplish that!?

It took about 2.5 hours of hard work but I did it! My grandfather always has me editing things for him when I go over. *cough*He never pays me.*cough* But yes, one of my latest things I am going to have to do is insert a girl who got left out of a picture. But thanks very much Adam! It was far from easy! ;D My aunt (The girl in the picture, that is a 60's picture remember, just look at the car in the window), threw a fit "Oh, always have to take ME out of everything", blah, blah.... ;D

Hehe well you certainly did a good job. I'm guessing you used something such as Photoshop to do that?

Haha...I wish. I use GIMP for everything that I do.

Ohh right - I've heard GIMP isn't that bad though, especially as it's free :)

I use photoshop CS for everything I do. If you see the MPSS Banner below - that was made in photoshop :)

Maybe you should try GIMP, see how eerily similar it is to PS.

I use photo shop CS4 for almost everything I do and i see it mutts noise in the picture you cud reduce the noise so it not saw edit out, but a OK job for web use but for printing sorry i cant see its good enough, and you shod move your grandfather more in the center. The picture you can see is edited. i have try ed GIMP  OK for amateurs but not good enough if you will do a pro job well my meaning

All that noise was there in the original image. And GIMP can do just as fine as PS can, it all depends on who is doing it. Also, that guy is not even my grandfather. I don't even KNOW him. How could my grandfather be THAT OLD in the 60's and still be here?

Very nice Shane, I can't see it has been edited to be honest.

Brilliant stuff, Shane! I wouldn't be able to tell if that was an edit or not!

Keep it up...BUT, don't forget the modelling! :o .

Could have fooled me if you hadn't said anything and only shown the second photo!! Very good job!!

Only close scrutiny reveals some mirroring and a few repeats and such..  But if you didn't know, you probably never notice!

I tried Photoshop Elements 7 and never got to use it's 30 day free trial, cause it slowed my computer. Then I tried Photoshop CS4 and it just closes. So I use both TinyPic and GIMP.

The only place that I can tell is one of the trees is not quite natural looking at the top.
