Dun dun....dun dun...
Naa, really, what I mean is, if they aren't really moderating, and they are say working at V-STEP, they should have a different title, because, the impression is that they are being lazy. There are several "Moderators". What I mean to say is, Is that, You (Terry) And Fred do the majority of the work at this forum, and considering how many "Moderators" there are in the list, I would of thought one of them would be able to help out a bit.
If they are doing something else (those several in the list), they should be marked as something else, in my opinion, so's not to cause confusion. :)
And, by no means am I knocking them in any way, they could be doing major work for V-STEP, but what I mean to say is, if that's the case, they should have a different title, thats just my opinion. :)

Hi Jack.
I think you're very wrong. Look at the posts by Luc, Marty, Angus and Eric. Loads of them. Some of the other moderators work on non-English boards of course, so you may not be familiar with what they are doing.
All of the CMMs have the title "Moderator" these days. Fred and I were keen to make that change a while ago. The CMMs test all the uploaded missions and help sort out the wheat from the bilge. Or something like that. That takes a phenomenal amount of work.
So, it's probably best to not assume that simply because you don't see loads of posts from a moderator, that this means they aren't around.
I wouldn't like to think anyone was crticising a moderator. After all, they do all that they do out of the goodness of their heart, not for money. Everyone here benefits from their kindness.

Ahhh! Thats why, thats what had me confused.
No no, You've got the wrong end of the stick Terry, Like I said, I'm not critasizing at all, I didn't actually know that that's what you do, call them all by "Moderators".
I'm look at the rules here:
"What Do Moderators Do?
Moderators monitor forum posts and respond to complaints to keep the forum free of undesirable content. They enforce the board rules, and can delete posts, edit posts and more. If a moderator lets you know you are close to crossing the line, take heed of the warning. This could mean you are close to a temporary or permanent ban."
Do you understand what I mean? About the confusion as to what a moderator is/does?
I'm certainly not knocking moderators like Luc, Marty, Angus and Eric, I mean all those ones that don't have any posts etc. (The way I was thinking before you told me about the CMM's have the title "Moderator"). But either way, I understand what you mean now.
Jack.

The thing to remember is that a moderator can do a huge amount of moderating work without ever posting visibly.
There are various sections of this forum which are unseen except to CMMs. There are other areas which are unseen except by Moderators. And still others for developers and others for Administrators and so on.
Some moderators may only post in the moderator areas. The posts in those areas do not get included in the post count. Otherwise my count would be perhaps twice as high.

Look chaps, I'm sorry to bump an old topic, but I MUST point out that this is off-topic and is a really bad example for an administrator to set. I'm shocked, Prof. Russell
