Hi guys,
Well, after a very long wait, and lots of talking, the moment has finally come. The forum and website for IRI5HJ4CK's Towing Service.
I debated in my head whether or not I should go ahead with this or not, because, if it turned out to be not so successful, it could mean that it may spoil it. However, a lot of people over time have actually sent me PM's after working on MP asking is there any place they can "Join" the "Company". So, I decided I should go ahead with it.
The Aim of this forum is for it to recognise the good days of MP, to preserve them. So to speak. It is my effort to try and keep the "Old Multiplayer" Thriving, as we move onto SS10. I'm hoping that by SS10, the forum will be thriving. With your help, of course :)
As the longer registered members will know, I've been "Towing" For a very long time, I started at Marseille when I first came here, and gradually, I built up my "Reputation" on MP For the towing, and such. So, my aim is to try and preserve this, for SS10. I hope you can help support it.

I'd also like to thank David Bailey (Lilfirefighterbailey), One of my good pals for actually making the forum/website for me, if it weren't for him, The forum/website wouldn't be here now! All credit goes to David
A lot of effort has been put into both the Forum/website, and just my general time here myself on MP, so please, try support whatever way you can! It will be greatly appreciated :captain: :) The forum wasn't made because I felt like it, it was made because there is a story behind it :)
Please help keeping the legend alive!
Kind Regards,
Jack.

Hi Jack.
Best wishes for it all.
Can I suggest that you take a look at the Fred Thread where Forums can state what they are about, and then speak to Fred about placing an announcement there?

i can not do MP because no one lives near me (i think)
-
Capn Cal, you can do MP with anyone, regardless of how close they live to you. Anyway, nice website Jack! Congratulations. I will be sure to register.
-
Thanks for the nice comments guys, and to those that have taken interest/registered :)
Sure Terry, I'll let Fred know :)
Jack ;D
-
ah very nice jack, hope it makes out well ;)
-
Hehe Thanks ;D
I would also like to mention that, a New theme has been applied, also, a logo is going to be added soon.
A new group has also been made, it will list (Upon people applying) The people who I think deserve to be official "Tug Captains" As it were. I have a few people in mind already *Ahem* Felison, *cough* Ballast ;D These are people that I've seen in action, that in my opinion, are very good :)
Please bear in mind, before applying, that, the title won't be handed around Nilly Willy, It needs to be in your best interests, and I have a good idea of who has towing at their best interests, and who dosen't
Jack.

Congratulations, IRISHJACK! ;D ;D

Hehe Thanks RMSC
An important WARNING from the office, spammers, high alert:
---------
Hi Guys,
We have had a spammer register on the forum, he has been dealt with, however, there has been recent news "From the office" that Spammers are sending PM's around. If you get any PM's saying anything along the lines of "Look at this!" from a strange user, DO NOT click the link, report it to me or Nathan straight away.
This also includes the forum itself, if you don't recognise the username (As we all know, SS is a closely knit community), and feel it is suspicious, please, report it to me right away. I can easily check the IP of the person etc. Any help is appreciated.
All security is on high alert at the time being...Including Member Registration, it has been moved to "Member Approval", In other words, I have to approve the member before they can register. Sorry if this causes any issues.

This has been posted on the forum itself...however, I feel it is also important to post here too.

I really wonder who is doing that. Here is a good website for getting rid of spammers and reporting them. You can search a username or IP address.

What happens if you open the message?
-
If you open it, it may contain a direct link to the virus.
However, I should point out that, which the current security, such an event is highly un-likely. I will soon be setting registrations back to E-Mail activation, however, I will be keeping an eye on the member list closely.
Jack :)

How about to find the spammer on the Towing Service forum, just check who sent it, if it is a email which won't appear in the My Messages, check the sender email who it was sent from.
-
The trouble is that most spammers use easily created "throw-away" Google, Hotmail, MSN email accounts. As soon as they get blocked, they simply use the next one and come back again with a new name.
The email activation method does help, as they tend to go for easier sites.
-
Yikes!! :o I'm not going through this like what happened before on DeviantART.
-
Hi Terry,
Thanks for that bit of Info.
I'd also like to announce that security has now been laxed, the panic is over ;)
There is no need to worry about registration. However, Please, upon registering, register with your Ship Simulator Official Forum name, so I know who you are.
I've changed Registration back to Activation E-Mail.
Jack.

Jack and friends, can I remind you that you should take all of your admin talk to your own forum? This is not the pace for it.
Thanks.
