No Ship Sim cannot work on a mac. I know because I have a Mac with Windows on it. Mac dose not support Windows games. But you could get windows Xp or Vista but you have to have a free program from Apple called bootcamp ( web site here http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/ ) that allows you to install windows on your computer. But depending on how good you are with computers. I would surgest that you take I to a store that deals with Apple computers. ;)

That sucks but thanks, it helps a lot. Good thing I dident buy it yet. The video card on my PC just barley ran ship sim 2006, so I need ney video card and 2008 :'( o well. Again thanks

What kind of card do you have. ???
-
In my PC I have an old radion card it was good then, but not now.

I was thinking, if you buy the download should'nt work on a mac? does anyone know?
-
Do you have windows installed. And I also have a radion card. and it plays SS08 ok somedays.( A little jerky others.)
-
I tried the demo and downloading the full game (bought it a few mn ago).
The demo is working on my macbook pro (the 1st one, core duo, 32bits) with bootcamp and winXP SP2 installed.
-
So if I install bootcamp it should work? If you install windows it defeats the purpose of having a mac, right

Bootcamp is a tool to install Windows in dualboot with macos X on your mac.
So you can choose to boot on Windows (2k, XP, Vista) OR macos X.
The purpose of a mac is to be able to run both macos X and windows.
And it's still very good hardware anyway, even if you only run Windows (shaaaaaaaame !!!)

So can I just use my windows XP disc I use on my PC. Wil it run the disc in my mac. And how do I choose to run with windows or the mac program? I have an Emac its older but it should work...right?

Nope.
Windows will run only on intel based Mac.
iMac, MacMini, Macbook, macbook pro, mac pro.

I think it is time to get a new computer. ;)
-
Ok thanks kerdezixe. Ship sim whatever, im lucky I have a mac if you send me money ill get a new computer ;).
-
Ahh yes. My mac does its job ok. But has some problems with afiew of my games. Like Trainz. ;)
-
I can't use any PC games but its still a great computer.
-
I use it on my Mac Book Pro with Bootcamp, as I do all my games. A MAC is always better than a PC and ow that you can use Bootcamp you have everything.
Gat the Intel mac
-
Getting an Intel MAC with Windows installed surely defeats the whole object.
I'll stick with PCs thanks.

macs have right and left click.
-
Yes they have right and left click buttons but they are hard to use if you have the standard mouse. ;)
-
Orinoco,
Sorry but I probably didn't make it clear - With Boot Camp installed you have a Dual Boot system i.e - A Mac and a PC.
The PC for games and the MAC for EVERYTHING else

Sorry to bump this thread up, but I didn't think it would be worth creating another one.
My question is - I have an 1.87 GHz Intel Core Duo iMac with a 128 MB ATI Radeon X1600, running Windows XP via BootCamp. Would that graphics card run Ship Simulator 08 decently enough?
Many thanks.
