Three pirates have been shot today, by naval sharpshooters. These pirates were responsible for the attempted hijacking of a Maersk ship the Maersk Alabamba 200 miles off of the coast of Somalia and are also responsible for holding the ship's captain, Richard Phillips hostage in a lifeboat for (I think it was three) days. The ships captain is very close to where I live and is on his way home as we speak and is unharmed.

yeah i sorta heard about the captain :P (thanks to Mad_Fred he changed my name but i'm still that joyful cc :P)
-
I'm glad to here that the entire crew is safe and sound. :)
-
also good to know that there are now 3 less pirates on the sea, glad that the captain is free and alive.
-
That's great news. I wonder what will happen to the rest of the hijacked vessels with their crew still on board. Will they also be rescued or was it because the media picked it up.

The pirates got what they deserved. glad to hear everyone is safe. (well apart from the pirates). and the captains wellbeing is good to see as well :)
-
The only reason this action was taken was because the crew was american, if the crew was mixed like on other maersk ships, all this wouldn't have happened I'm afraid.

Its sad to here of things like this going on in this modern world. :(
