 :newcaptain: this one brought back memorys she was anchored
 off isle of man and we steamed past on our way to iceland .

Wow, Radio Caroline, I wonder what ever happened to it!

Nice picture, I suppose quite a rare one too!

I've seen the ex. Trawler before, but never a close up shot like that!

p.s. after some research, the Ross Revenge is in Tilbury Docks being restored, and Radio Caroline is still actually broadcasting, but at a fixed location near the docks, as far as I'm aware. Not on the trawler.

I remember those days. Before the "pirates", the only sources of "pop" music were the occassional sessions by the Beatles and Rolling Stones and a few others on programs such as Workers Playtime, and a Saturday spot that they had.

At night time, on the medium wave, we could listen to Fluff on Radio Luxemburg, as he faded in and out with the atmospherics.

Then the pirates came along and we had day-long pop music. I once won a competition sponsored by VO5, and got to go to Caroline to meet Tony Blackburn. It was very different from the way I'd imagined it!

Here in Antwerp(kempische dok)is the former radiovessel "Veronica" berthed,however the plan exist to remove it to another spot somewere in Holland

Those were the days  ;D we sailed from fleetwood and passed here on
the way to fishing grounds some trawlers use to go alongside and throw
requests for them to play.
In the end the trawler companys gave orders to skippers for this to stop
first record I heard was juliet the 4 pennys.  :D

Way back in my days as a Sound Engineer, I worked on some of her recordings. She's a lovely lady.

Very pleasant, never "I'm a star". She recorded "Che Sera Sera", which is my family motto, and wanted to know all about it before she did the recording.
