Hi
I've had a english test last week and guess what I had 72 right out of 94. (which gave me the highest score of the class) I still have a 'speaking part' left and a 'free writing part' though...
but still, I'am very pleased with the results.

we can get: IG(not good) G(good) VG(very good) MVG(excellent) I got VG on those 2 tests.

I've done them. We only have essay and those you did got nine in both. Our scale is 00-03-05-06-7-8-9-10 11-13
13 is almost impossible to get and can only be reached by extremely good essay

Well Done Maritiem! Succes in english! and if you can read this, you've got no problem! ;D
Im currently doing a GCSE in German, its very hard, but worth it. Im not too good at the speaking part, I prefer the writing, even if it is boring. and we seem to have german tests all the time, but there you go. actually Maritiem, do you think the english language is very complicated? I dont really know what foreigners think about our language. I know German is very complicated, they've got 3 different terms for the word the for example, all sorts of random rules. Boy its confusing!!! :P ::)
-
lol yeah german is confusing, I got 7 in it :-[
-
out of?
-
look a bit higher up in this topic and your see how our scale is
-
So its out of 13? 7/13 is not too bad is it? ;)
-
just high enaugh to get to the higher schools, but I've missed very much of the german classes, so I guess it's not that bad.
-
thought not :) you did alright

thank you for your compliment! I don't really think that english is hard to learn although there are many different words which have the same intention.

Well for me I don't think that german is so difficult for me to learn since german is a relative to the Dutch language, but still it's very hard to learn a new language. (I was forced to learn Swedish because we moved from holland 3 years ago)

I'm from the US, and I still hate english. ;D
I talked to an asian lady on a flight once, we were helping her with her english, she said it was one of the most difficult languages, because we have so many different words that mean the same thing, and so many things that mean the same thing but are spelled differently.

You guys were lucky that the english people came to america to buy 'new amsterdam' (now known as new york) from the dutch people otherwise you should speak dutch by now. ;D
maritiem

Congratulations, you should be proud! :)
-
I'm learning german and i find it is very logical and fairly easy. I haven't got there yet but I find it easier and more interesting than French (no offence)
-
I know all the songs that were in our german books were very funny.

Ja! Also Norwegian (bokmål), and trying to improve my basic Finnish to a more conversational level. I'm thinking about Icelandic, as a precursor to Old Norse... but it looks (and sounds) very challenging :-\. Too challenging for me, perhaps :(
As a native English speaker, I find Norwegian even easier than German....
-
Norwegian and swedish is very easy for me, but Icelandic is very hard.

Isn't your language more relative to danish? we here in Sweden can understand norwegian very easy.
maritiem
-
I think swedish and norwegian are very much alike danish and I learned danish in school + I have cousin that speak swedish. Many folk say swedish and faroese looks a bit, but I don''t think so, but there are many words that are almost the same
-
English isn't verry difficult, I find French much more difficult.
(But I am not saying that I am good in English :P)
-
uff french i hate it , expecially the speaking part! (nothing against the french)
-
"On parle Anglais
We speak German
Man spricht Französich".. ;D
-
I like to speak French, but hate to write it.
Biceaus then it is full with mistakes.
Just like my English

Aaah, das ist OK.
You should discover the horrors of latin.
For a word like "who", there are 18 forms.
Nominative
Accusative
Dative
Past
-Perfect
-Imperfect
Present
Future
So you need to revise 18 times hard to learn a word.

oh, lovely!
I think thats one language Ill avoid
