Ah yes, the so-called "Red Nose Day", heard it's a some kind of holiday or something like that in Germany...
As far as I'm aware, its pretty much Global, its in Britain too (I bought a red nose today )
Nice video by the way!

Is that what they call a bulbous bow. ;D ;D

Red Nose day is a very British thing. It's an annual charity event on the BBC. It was started by a group of comedians as part of "Comic Relief", in the same vein as Bob Geldoff's "relief" events.
The red nose is of course the symbol of the clown.
People run around all day doing stupid things to raise money. You can buy red noses to wear or to put on your car and so on. All the money goes to the charities.
In my time I have jumped off Bognor Pier, dressed as a ballerina, holding two small propellor fans, in order to help me fly across the English Channel (total failure!).
I have also jumped off one of the piers at Brighton, dressed as a Ronald McDonald. The aim was to fly more than 12 feet. As the pier is about 30-40 feet above the water, I flew that distance. Straight down. People had sponsored me for various sums of money, per foot travelled. Heheh.
Also done a sponsored custard-pie fight. Best fun I've had in years. Fifty of us, throwing custard pies at each other and especially at BBC celebrities. Don't some of them get grumpy?

In germany the red nose day is not realy funny. Exept that everyone wears a red nose!
Its more about give money to the poor people! We have thousends of TV shows that are collecting money at Red nose day.

I'm not sure it's as much fun as it used to be. Mustn't loose sight of the "Comic Relief" origins, in my opinion.
We're having a sponsored Wellington (galoshes) throwing competition at work this year. The money is on my son to win. But as I used to be a shot-putter, he will have to work hard. Some of the others involved will be tough to beat as well.
PS, the Wellingtons will be full of red jelly and have to be caught by another team member to qualify as a valid throw. Messy!

Looks like DFDS is getting access to some interesting military technology :P

Photos. We need photos. You have the right not to post any; anything you do post may be copied down and used against you :police:
(total failure!)
Let us be the judge of that ;D
