I think that Vstep and virtual sailor should come together and make models for one another, so in this way we get models almost every month. I hope there is a contract between the two. Post your oppinions here

 Vstep is a company with many peopel and VS is just one man who make the game as a hobby. And the boats comes from the user not VS itself.

I doubt VSTEP and VS would merge. They are almost rivals. And half of the VS models would not meet VSTEP's standards.

Sorry mate, but that's never going to happen. :-\
And how would you get around the copyright issues? Almost all VS vessels that represent a real vessel, owned and run by a real company, are actually illegal. They would never get into VS without permission.
Then there's dynamics. Most VS vessels I have used are rubbish on the dynamics front, nop matter how pretty a 3D model is, and if it will be accepted in the first place.. the guidelines would not be met in most cases.
That would mean loads of work to get them to work properly so that the simulation aspect is in order.
In short,
Nah!

VSTEP does not think of VS as a rival. VS is a totally different thing with a totally different way of working.

Well, you know what I mean. A lot of us ship simmers don't really like VS (Some do, don't get me wrong) but I don't think Vstep would merge with a company that their customers dislike. :)

I think that before anyone runs off with the idea that VS and SS are bitter enemies or commercial rivals, they're not. They target very different segments of the market. Plenty of room for both.
Comparing one against the other is like comparing a helicopter with roller skates. Yes, both will get you around, but there the similarity ends.
;D

SS has much better dynamics and its waaays more difficult to add a new ship to the game.
VS is more about adding more and more vessels, but the dynamics mostly are not realy good.
That makes the most difference!
So it would be better if Vstep and VS would to their own thing.
