Sorry to hear the game/demo won't work on your PC :(
Of course, this is no reason to leave the forum, you could always upgrade, if not right away, maybe in the near future ;)
You don't necessarily need to upgrade everything, CPU, Graphics and RAM should do the trick :)
Most of this could be achieved with your current Motherboard too, and with prices of older hardware dropping all the time, it shouldn't be that expensive.....even if you get just over the minimum required ;)
Regards.
DJM.
EDIT: It was my understanding that the Pentium III peaked at 1.4ghz, then the Pentium IV was released with higher speeds. Have I been misinformed?

You can upgrade CPU?
Anyway if i add CPU, RAM, Better graphics card it may be better but this comp is just about to die.
So i should just buy new comp but i cant affoard too :-[
So there is no point on staying on the forum.

That's a shame :(
You can change the CPU for a faster one, but the sockets must be the same. You can get this information on your motherboard manufacturers website or in your motherboard manual ;)
If you need any upgrade advice, please feel free to ask, I would be happy to help :)

hey, Vstep- Just wanted to say thank you SOOOO much for releasing the demo! Cant wait to try it. Say, noticed the guy who started this thread was using 1.7ghz, 64meg card and many other low specs- but he could still play it! This has given me fresh hope with my 2.2ghz dual cos I was on the verge of not buying!
Ill let ya know how It gets on with the demo!
Thanks hugely, Sky.

I to only have 1.7 Ghz & 1 Gig of ram in a lap-top but love the game so much I make due.
-
sorry to hear! your computer just needs a little upgrading!!
-
Thanks, but I am not going to do an ugrade I plan a replacement it after I pay off Christmas.
-
how do you see you computer specs?
-
well, if you dont' really wanna go into any great detail, simply use 'system information', which is in the System tools menu. However, if you wish to view stuff a bit more on the indepth side, open sys info then click 'file' on the topbar. Then export it as a .txt file. This should tell you everything you need to know about your graphics card, running apps, installed widgets etc..
Thanks, Sky

my experiencie with a laptop/desktop onboard graphic card.
laptop:
windows xp
core duo 1.6ghz
512ram
onboard graphic card shared ram
in the bios i can change the memory graphic card
-graphic card memory set to 64mb, no waves
-graphic card memory set to 128mb, waves. but performace game is a bit slow
-graphic card memory set to 224mb, waves. performance OK at open sea with high settings.
So if i take off the 224mb from my 512mb ram, i left 288mb of ram...and works great.
desktop:
windows xp
P4 3.2ghz
512ram
onboard graphic card shared ram
i can only set to 64mb --> no waves, overall performance very poor.

You will then have access to the Technical Support board, where a lot of these technical issues have already been resolved.
If you're not sure how to enter your licence key, please check the General FAQ's or PM a Moderator :)

They don't exactly come cheap, but if he's 12 years old or so he could ask his dad ;)
Anyway I wouldn't install a top video card with a slow CPU.
If you got performance problems visit www.pcpitstop.com and run the optimize utility. It checks everything on your system and tells you what is bad and how you fix it to make your computer faster. It can even do it for you but then you have to register and pay $30 for it. But it's worth it in my opinion.
