Post by: Kapn D on February 27, 2009, 21:56:13
I am wondering what graphics cards you are using, from what I can say from screenshots I've seen they are not too good(no offence). I am Using the Nvidia 8800 GT.

Twin 8800 GTX in PC number 1 (with dual 28" monitors). It's like the 8800 GT, but has it's own memory (doesn't steal any from the PC) and it's faster and so on.

Twin 8600 GT on PC2. They also don't "share" my PC's memory.

They all run very well. Detail setting at maximum for all games and simulations.

8800 GTX running lovely, a friend of mine has this card, just not in the twin. And even if it steals some of the system he is running almost all of the latest games on full! :)

Yes, and suprisingly it works rather smooth. In fact, one time I was sailing around Padstow on full graphics and it seemed smooth. Never done that again though, I guess i'm just lucky.

Thats cool! But i can see x300 SE its competing directly with GeForce 6200 TurboCache from nVidia! And the Minimum system requirements for SS is GeForce 5900  ;D

My graphics card is a nice and loud Nvidia 9800Gx2 which is a definite step up from my old 6200! I get good framerates with Refresh rate style framerates in open sea with any vessel but my CPU slightly let's the side down in port where it sometimes drops down to the 20s and 30s. Before with the 6200 I used to get somewhere in the region of 2 to 5 FPS in port, with regular crashes.
