 :'( Hi, during the mission when I leave Rottherdam arbour direction North sea  for some reason the ships sink!!!! 
I never be able to complete the mission.

thats just an annoying bug.... that happens with me too i think it will be fixed on the next patch  ;) ;)

Also in free play with redjet4 in Marseille, redjet4 is already sunk at start. :D

hi am posting this in this topic as not to create a new one!

I was just wondering what damge percentage(%) do you have to have for the ship to sink or is always sinking even if its at 1% and it's extremely slow....???????

you have to get damge or holes below the water line, or high damage.

I forget the mission number, but it's about 6 or 7 in the version 1 2008 game.

My Pride of Rotterdam sunk after going under the Golden Gate bridge on the way to phi-phi. I went under the bridge at full speed, without hitting anything and then landed in the water at phi-phi with a sunken pride of Rotterdam - The bottom deck you can walk along was below the water line and it wouldn't move.

This looks to me like a bug as I was expecting to slow down when I arrived at the islands.

I once sank a boat on only 1% damage. That, of course, would be likely due to damage below the waterline.
I think one of the best ways to sink your ship is to ground it. Sail into a shallow area.
I have a question that may be off topic a bit, but...
People who love fire are pyromaniacs, but what is a person called who likes sinking ships/boats?  :P  :D

The water around Phi Phi is not all that deep, and the PofO is a big ship. Check the charted depth where she went down.
Do not expect the damage to be greater in all cases. For instance, if the damage to engine or rudder in a mission was triggered by a waypoint, the damage indicator and most other HUD readouts may remain normal although the ship loses speed and rudder control. In the case of engine damage, the red lights above the engine switches will light.
The speed and heading you have going into a jump is not the speed and heading you will have on the other end of the wormhole. The engines will be stopped. The heading at a default location will probably be 0 degrees. In a teleport waypoint it will the heading of the green arrow on the Area object.

As suggested, you might have better luck with V1.1.

Does your damage keep on rising when its over a certain percentage?

I was doing the Titanic mission and I was just letting her steam away down the Solent..
Suddenly the Titanic just stopped there, and rocked about a bit..
I was on full acceleration and it didn't move.

Then, my damage just rised higher and higher ,a message popped up.

Something like, You've have damaged your ship therefore you need to exit, or restart.

I've upgraded to 1.1, and I thought you'd just see your ship sink, or is that only on Free Roam?

I was expecting it to sink if the damage was high, not popup with a mission failed message.

You probably ran it aground on the shallow section... so it wouldn't sink!

As Stu said, sinking is realistic when it comes to not going down through the mud.
After you get undocked, stay in the white and out of the cyan. Take the green buoys on your port.
If you stray into the shallows, Titanic will come to a not-so-realistic screeching halt.
The damage % on the HUD is not the most reliable indication of trouble. Look at the other HUD indicators: speed, depth under bow & stern, etc. Check the chart to see if you are where you shouldn’t be.

well, when i was trying to let my p6 (patrol boat) sink, i was floating backwards, and smashed onto the wall, there were red indicator lights on, but i didnt know what they mean, it only says: Warning, blahblah, (i dont know whats the exact reason for those lights  ???)
But the boat didnt sink yet, than i was trying to go forward, slowly* and i smashed onto a wall again, it was finaly sinking, but it was the greatest fun to keep moving either when the ship is sinking :P

The red lights over the engine switches indicate engine damage. The Damage trigger waypoint lights them if you specify a % engine damage.

Is that another option added? The oil Temperature?
But, if they go up, your ship goes slower?

And about the Life Rafts, they cant be launched, as so for as i know.
